Researchers today face significant challenges reshaping the landscape of academic, government, and industry research due to the exponential growth of global research outputs and the advent of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI). The annual increase in published works has made it difficult for traditional literature review and data analysis methods to keep pace, often rendering reviews outdated by the time of publication. In response, this methods article introduces a suite of new tools designed to automate a number of stages for systematic literature reviews.

Given vitamin D's ability to reduce inflammation, we sought to examine if intranasal (IN) delivery of calcitriol [clinical analog of 1,25(OH)2D3] could reduce inflammation and improve disease severity in a murine model of chronic cigarette smoke-induced sinonasal inflammation (CS-SI).
Methods: Mice were exposed to CS 5 h/day, 5 days/week for 9 months, and then began IN calcitriol three times per week for 4 weeks.
A 13-y-old, spayed female dog had regenerative anemia, lymphopenia, hypoalbuminemia, and elevated hepatic biochemical parameters. Liver biopsy revealed hepatic peliosis (hepatic sinusoidal angiectasis), frequently associated with perisinusoidal fibrosis. The dog was seroreactive to antigens by indirect fluorescent antibody assays, and quantitative PCR from blood identified subsp.

Study Design: The study analyses quantitative and qualitative data from a survey of 1684 women in three UK police forces, where growing numbers work during menopause transition within what has been termed a hyper-masculine culture.
Results: We evidence that job satisfaction is negatively impacted by experience of menopause symptoms.
There was an unprecedented surge in admissions for medical stabilization of pediatric patients with eating disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario. Eleven hospitals established an integrated rapid response model to ensure timely in-patient access for these patients. This population was cared for in re-allocated community hospital beds as a result of engaging hospital leadership, strengthening partnerships, consulting experts, leveraging existing resources and developing regional bed access strategies.

The genetic basis of these speech disorders is well-documented, with approximately 30% of children who undergo genomic testing receiving an explanatory genetic diagnosis. As more children with speech disorders are offered genetic testing, understanding parental views and experiences around genetic testing for their child is critical in providing effective pre- and post-test genetic counselling.

Yet, it remains unclear how phylogeny and morphology influence the trophic niches of closely related aquatic species with shared feeding modes. Freshwater mussels (Family: Unionidae) are a group of filter-feeding bivalves that are ideal for investigating mechanisms of niche partitioning.

Evidence suggests disease is donor derived. Hypothetically, recipient infection with a different BKV serotype increases risk due to poorer immunological control.

Freshwater mussels are aquatic fauna, with some threatened or endangered species propagated in hatcheries and introduced into natural systems as part of conservation efforts. The effects of the environment on the freshwater mussel gut microbiome were assessed for two hatchery-propagated species (, ) introduced into rivers within their natural range.

Here we utilize a multiplex multivariable approach to define cytokine, chemokines, and growth factors in patient-matched biospecimens from multiple biological sites to identify factors predictive of PGD.
Methods –: Biospecimens were collected from patients undergoing bilateral LTx from three distinct sites: donor lung perfusate, post-transplant bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) fluid (2h), and plasma (2h and 24h).
Motor rehabilitation is a therapeutic process to facilitate functional recovery in people with spinal cord injury (SCI). However, its efficacy is limited to areas with remaining sensorimotor function. Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) creates a temporary prosthetic effect that may allow further rehabilitation-induced recovery in individuals without remaining sensorimotor function, thereby extending the therapeutic reach of motor rehabilitation to individuals with more severe injuries.

We examined the undefined role of receptor Mer tyrosine kinase (MerTK) on monocytic myeloid-derived suppressor cells (M-MDSCs) in efferocytosis to facilitate resolution of lung IRI. Single-cell RNA sequencing of lung tissue and bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) from patients after LTx were analyzed.

Introduction: Complex trauma can have serious impacts on the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families. The perinatal period represents a 'critical window' for recovery and transforming cycles of trauma into cycles of healing. The Healing the Past by Nurturing the Future (HPNF) project aims to implement and evaluate a programme of strategies to improve support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander families experiencing complex trauma.

We aimed to examine the association between SLEDAI score and clinical, patient-reported and economic outcomes in patients with SLE.
Methods: Rheumatologists from the United States of America and Europe provided real-world demographic, clinical, and healthcare resource utilization (HCRU) data for SLE patients.
Patients often turn to online reviews as a source of information to inform their decisions regarding care. Existing literature has analyzed factors associated with positive online patient ratings among hand and wrist surgeons. However, there is limited in-depth analysis of factors associated with low patient satisfaction for hand and wrist surgeons.

December 2024
Advanced cirrhosis confers a significant symptom burden and has a 50% 2-year mortality rate in those with decompensated disease. There is increasing demand for supportive and palliative care (SAPC) for these patients, yet no consensus on the best model of delivery. It is necessary to identify the needs of such patients and their carers, and evaluate whether they are being met.

We investigated the cell-specific role of ferroptosis (excessive iron-mediated cell death) in mediating lung IRI and determined if specialized pro-resolving mediators such as Lipoxin A4 (LxA ) can protect against ferroptosis in lung IRI.
Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing of lung tissue from post-LTx patients was analyzed.
