With advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), there is growing potential for AI-driven technologies to address this issue through continuous monitoring and adaptive interventions.

Introduction: Bowel cancer is a significant global health concern, ranking as the third most prevalent cancer worldwide. Laparoscopic resections have become a standard treatment modality for resectable colorectal cancer. This study aimed to compare the clinical and oncological outcomes of medial to lateral (ML) vs lateral to medial (LM) approaches in laparoscopic colorectal cancer resections.

Introduction: The modified Frailty Index (m-FI) offers a simple scoring tool, predicting short-term outcomes in elderly colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. However, links between m-FI scores and 2-year postoperative mortality in octogenarian CRC resection patients remain underexplored. A streamlined frailty index can aid in preoperative assessments to identify elderly patients who are likely to live longer after curative resection surgery to then tailor postoperative care.

Our objective is to review how successful these new guidelines have been and whether they could be safely maintained in future practice. Methods This was a retrospective data analysis at a local tertiary ENT referral hospital.

Perforated gallbladder in a parastomal hernia.

We present an 87-year-old woman who presented to the emergency department with a 7-day history of severe abdominal pain at her ileostomy parastomal hernia site. Prior to presentation, her general practitioner had started her on a reducing steroid dose for suspected Crohn's disease exacerbation. On examination, she had a distended abdomen with localised guarding and tenderness over her hernia site.

The aim of current study is to examine hydroxyurea (HU), which is an antineoplastic drug used for the treatment of leukemia, sickle-cell disease, HIV, psoriasis, thrombocythemia, and various neoplastic diseases in two aspects. The active ingredient hydroxyurea was obtained by purification of the capsule form drug, commercially named as HYDREA. Then, [(99m)Tc(CO)3](+)core radiolabeling with HU was performed as first aspect.

An unusual case of DRESS syndrome.

Background: DRESS syndrome (drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms) is a rare but severe drug reaction.

Observations: A 27-year-old male with paranoid schizophrenia was hospitalized with all three diagnostic criteria of DRESS syndrome: cutaneous drug eruption, hematological abnormalities (presence of atypical lymphocytes on blood smear) and systemic involvement (generalized lymphadenopathy and hepatitis). On hospitalization the patient exhibited an unusual fever pattern of high temperatures in the morning hours and lower temperatures towards evening.

Learned helplessness and learned resourcefulness: effects of noncontingent success and failure on individuals differing in self-control skills.

We designed two experiments to investigate the role of self-control processes in learned-helplessness studies by assessing the differential reactions to uncontrollability of subjects who presumably had either a rich (high resourceful, or HR) or poor (low resourceful, or LR) repertoire of self-control skills. HR and LR subjects received noncontingent success feedback, failure feedback, or no feedback on a task that ostensibly assessed "therapeutic abilities." Subjects were subsequently tested on insolvable puzzles (Experiment 1) or on solvable anagrams (Experiment 2).
