We report synthesis, transport properties, and osmotic energy harvesting performance of another member of the nanotube porin family: boron nitride nanotube porins (BNNTPs). The fabrication technique uses localized charged-particle-induced deposition with either a focused beam of helium ions or electrons in a helium ion microscope (HIM) or scanning electron microscope (SEM). Objectives: To assess whether eligibility for an age-related universal (pioneer generation [PG]) subsidy incentivises dental attendance by older Singaporeans.
Methods: Data were collected between 2018 and 2021 from in-person interviews of Singaporean adults aged 60-90 years using a questionnaire and a clinical examination. The questionnaire included details of age, gender, ethnicity, education, residential status, socio-economic status, marital status, eligibility for subsidy (community health assistance/CHAS, PG or both) and frequency of dental attendance.
Inadequate glycogen branching enzyme 1 (GBE1) activity results in different forms of glycogen storage disease type IV, including adult polyglucosan body disorder (APBD). APBD is clinically characterized by adult-onset development of progressive spasticity, neuropathy, and neurogenic bladder and is histologically characterized by the accumulation of structurally abnormal glycogen (polyglucosan bodies) in multiple cell types. How insufficient GBE1 activity causes the disease phenotype of APBD is poorly understood.

Clinicians and researchers have traditionally worked in independent silos, with limited collaboration to rapidly translate discovery into clinical practice. At institutional level, hospitals and universities have also tended to work independently with limited success in leveraging each other's strengths with a view to improving population health. Methods: A Metrics Group consisting of 4 experienced Consultants in Restorative Dentistry, an experienced member of staff from the Restorative Dentistry department in CUDSH and a senior behavioural scientist and education/training expert deconstructed the performance of the Class II posterior composite resin restoration and defined performance metrics. At a modified Delphi meeting, 20 experts in the field of Restorative Dentistry from 11 different Dental Institutions critiqued these metrics and their operational definitions before reaching consensus.

Here, we have developed a rapid fractionation procedure that enables us to take mouse heart and liver from in vivo and within ~ 30 s stabilise the distribution of metabolites between mitochondria and the cytosol by rapid cooling, homogenisation and dilution. Here we show that this is for two reasons: the residual oxygen present in many cellular hypoxia models sustains mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation; and the loss of lactate from cells into the incubation medium during ischemia enables cells to sustain glycolysis. To overcome these limitations, we incubated isolated adult mouse cardiomyocytes anoxically while inhibiting lactate efflux.
