Unlabelled: Chronic arterial insufficiency of lower limbs (CAILL) is a common cardiovascular disease that affects 200 million subjects worldwide: from 4 to 12% of people aged 55-70 years and 20% - over 70 years. The cause of blood circulation disorder in this disease is usually a complex of pathological changes including abnormality of vessel walls' anatomical structure or integrity, disorder of blood rheological properties and alterations of its thrombotic potential. Thus, the therapy of patients with CAILL aiming at hemostasis and, in particular, platelets' aggregation is one of the most urgent problems of medicine.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFDrug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a severe hypersensitivity reaction characterized by cutaneous rash, lymphadenopathy, fever, eosinophilia, leukocytosis, and life-threatening organ dysfunctions. We describe the case of a 26 year old patient admitted to the Emergency Department for DRESS syndrome after sulfasalazine treatment for rheumatoid arthritis in the right knee. Whole body computer tomography showed multiple neck, chest, and abdominal lymphadenopathy with splenomegaly, massive ascites and severe hepatic cytolysis.

The goal of the current study was to identify the role of the glucocorticoids in the respiratory effects of proinflammatory cytokines. For this purpose intravenous injections of TNF-α were used in anesthetized spontaneously breathing rats before and after pretreatment of dexamethasone, a synthetic steroid with predominant glucocorticoid activity. Prolonged UV irradiation of 2:1 mixtures of the crown stilbene and the diammonium salt led to the formation of two main photoproducts, namely, the single -"head-to-head" photodimer of the crown stilbene ( cyclobutane) due to supramolecular-assisted [2 + 2] photocycloaddition and a crown ether derivative of phenanthrene due to a photoinduced electrocyclization reaction. The cyclobutane was isolated by preparative photolysis, followed by chromatography.

Unlabelled: Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). There is strong evidence that physical activity is an effective way to reduce fatigue.
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of aerobic exercise (walking) to reduce fatigue in RA patients in the health resort setting.
A pressing issue of the day is the identification of therapeutic targets to suppress the "cytokine storm" in COVID-19 complicated by acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with concomitant hypoxemia. However, the key cytokine and its relative contribution to the pathogenesis of ARDS, which leads to high mortality, are unknown. A comparative assessment of the effect of elevated systemic levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1β, TNF-1α and IL-6 on the respiratory patterns and survival rate in rats was carried out under progressively increasing acute hypoxia.

Vital microscopy showed that more pronounced dilatation of pial vessels in response to IL-1β under hypoxic conditions was almost completely prevented by pretreatment with non-specific NO synthase blocker L-NAME. These findings indicate the involvement of NO-dependent mechanisms in the vasodilator effect of proinflammatory cytokines under conditions of acute hypoxic exposure.

The method implies clustering of similar nucleotide sequences and selection of group primers for all genes of each cluster. Clustering of resistance genes for six groups of antibiotics (aminoglycosides, β-lactams, fluoroquinolones, glycopeptides, macrolides and lincosamides, and fusidic acid) was performed.
