While transcriptional regulators and global transcriptional profiles of biofilm formation have been well-characterized, much less is known about translational regulation of this important virulence property.

Healthcare professionals' perspectives on commercial milk formula marketing in the UK: a qualitative study.

Objectives: To understand (1) healthcare professionals' (HCPs) perceptions and experiences of commercial milk formula (CMF) marketing to consumers and HCPs and (2) HCPs' perspectives on regulation of CMF marketing.

Setting: UK.

Design: In-person and online interviews with 41 HCPs with regular contact with pregnant women and mothers.

CXCL13 as a Biomarker: Background and Utility in Multiple Sclerosis.

CXCL13 is a chemokine which is upregulated within the CNS in multiple sclerosis, Lyme neuroborreliosis, and other inflammatory diseases and is increasingly clinically useful as a biomarker. This review provides background for understanding its function in the immune system and its relationship to ectopic lymphoid follicles. Also reviewed are its utility in multiple sclerosis and Lyme neuroborreliosis and potential problems in its measurement.

In-Cage Recombination Facilitates the Enantioselective Organocatalytic [1,2]-Rearrangement of Allylic Ammonium Ylides.

The [1,2]-rearrangement of allylic ammonium ylides is traditionally observed as a competitive minor pathway alongside the thermally allowed [2,3]-sigmatropic rearrangement. Concerted [1,2]-rearrangements are formally forbidden, with these processes believed to proceed through homolytic C-N bond fission of the ylide, followed by radical-radical recombination. The challenges associated with developing a catalytic enantioselective [1,2]-rearrangement of allylic ammonium ylides therefore lie in biasing the reaction pathway to favor the [1,2]-reaction product, alongside controlling a stereoselective radical-radical recombination event.

Stress reactivity moderates the association between stressful life events and depressive symptoms in adolescents: Results from a population-based study.

Background: A large body of evidence links stressful life events with depression. However, little is understood about the role of perceived impact in this association.

Methods: We performed regression analysis to investigate whether self-reported stress reactivity (derived by regressing the impact-weighted life event score on the unweighted score) moderated the association between stressful life events and depressive symptoms in adolescents from the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children cohort (n = 4791), controlling for age at outcome, sex, ethnicity, and maternal education.

Background: Epigenetic age (EA) is an age estimate, developed using DNA methylation (DNAm) states of selected CpG sites across the genome. Although EA and chronological age are highly correlated, EA may not increase uniformly with time. Characterising the anxiogenic network from functional connectivity analysis of the CO challenge model.

The CO challenge model (CCM) is a gas inhalation paradigm that provides precisely controlled anxiety induction in experimental settings. Despite its potential as an experimental model of anxiety, our understanding of the neural effects of the CCM is incomplete. This study employs resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) to explore functional connectivity (FC) changes underlying the CCM.

Sleep profoundly influences human behaviour across cognition, affect, and daily experience. This study evaluated how subjective reports and objective measures of sleep capture the interaction between sleep quality and quantity on cognition and affect. We collected subjective sleep reports using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and objective seven-day actigraphy recordings from 83 participants.

The UN-Habitat supports global governments in formulating National Urban Policies (NUPs) for sustainable urban development. The aim of this study was to develop and validate a High-Performance Thin Layer Chromatographic (HPTLC) method for simultaneous determination of ceftriaxone and ceftriaxone e-isomer in powder for injection formulation. Ceftriaxone sodium injection is an antibiotic that used globally. It has Z/E geometrical conformation, in which ceftriaxone sodium and 3 ene-isomer have Z- conformation while (E)-isomer has E- conformation and the potential toxicity of ceftriaxone (E)-isomer has been reported.

Developmental Timing of Associations Among Parenting, Brain Architecture, and Mental Health.

Importance: Parenting is associated with brain development and long-term health outcomes, although whether these associations depend on the developmental timing of exposure remains understudied. Identifying these sensitive periods can inform when and how parenting is associated with neurodevelopment and risk for mental illness.

Objective: To characterize how harsh and warm parenting during early, middle, and late childhood are associated with brain architecture during adolescence and, in turn, psychiatric symptoms in early adulthood during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Topological Data Analysis for Particulate Gels.

Soft gels, formed via the self-assembly of particulate materials, exhibit intricate multiscale structures that provide them with flexibility and resilience when subjected to external stresses. This work combines particle simulations and topological data analysis (TDA) to characterize the complex multiscale structure of soft gels. Our TDA analysis focuses on the use of the Euler characteristic, which is an interpretable and computationally scalable topological descriptor that is combined with filtration operations to obtain information on the geometric (local) and topological (global) structure of soft gels.

The impact of behavioral weight management interventions on eating behavior traits in children with overweight or obesity: Systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Behavioral weight management interventions (BWMIs) are an evidence-based strategy for addressing childhood obesity. Targeting eating behavior traits (EBTs; individual tendencies determining food intake/occasions) could play a pivotal role in improving the effectiveness of these behavioral interventions. The present study describes a systematic review and meta-analysis of the impact of BWMIs on eating behavior traits in children with overweight or obesity.

The use of chiral medicines (possessing center(s) of asymmetric carbon) may cause adverse drug reactions (ADRs). The safety assurance of these medicines is critical. We aimed to evaluate registered and commonly used anti-infective chiral medicines circulating in the Tanzanian market to establish their safety profile to protect public health.

Prospective Evaluation of Artificial Intelligence Triage of Intracranial Hemorrhage on Noncontrast Head CT Examinations.

Retrospective studies evaluating artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms for intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) detection on noncontrast CT (NCCT) have shown promising results but lack prospective validation. The purpose of this article was to evaluate the impact on radiologists' real-world aggregate performance for ICH detection and report turnaround times for ICH-positive examinations of a radiology department's implementation of an AI triage and notification system for ICH detection on head NCCT examinations. This prospective single-center study included adult patients who underwent head NCCT examinations from May 12, 2021, to June 30, 2021 (phase 1), or from September 30, 2021, to December 4, 2021 (phase 2).

Isothiourea-Catalysed Acylative Kinetic Resolution of Tertiary Pyrazolone Alcohols.

The development of methods for the selective acylative kinetic resolution (KR) of tertiary alcohols is a recognised synthetic challenge with relatively few successful substrate classes reported to date. In this manuscript, a highly enantioselective isothiourea-catalysed acylative KR of tertiary pyrazolone alcohols is reported. The scope and limitations of this methodology have been developed, with high selectivity observed across a broad range of substrate derivatives incorporating varying substitution at N(2)-, C(4)- and C(5)-, as well as bicyclic constraints within the pyrazolone scaffold (30 examples, selectivity factors (s) typically >100) at generally low catalyst loadings (1 mol %).
