Recently, we have described the first supermolecular nanoentities of vitamin B derivative, viz. monocyano form of heptabutyl cobyrinate, unique nanoparticles with strong noncovalent intermolecular interactions, emerging optical and catalytic properties. Their nearest analogue, heptamethyl cobyrinate (ACCby), exhibits bioactivity.

On the other hand, a complete experimental study of the best so far known superconductor, lanthanum superhydride LaH , encounters a serious complication because of the large upper critical magnetic field H (0), exceeding 120-160 T. It is found that partial replacement of La atoms by magnetic Nd atoms results in significant suppression of superconductivity in LaH : each at% of Nd causes a decrease in T by 10-11 K, helping to control the critical parameters of this compound.

The additional atomic occupancy in the octahedral and the tetrahedral voids of the face-centered cubic lattice (fcc) of fullerene Cwas detected by neutron and x-ray powder diffraction. The observed occupancy exactly tracks the rearrangement of the orientation order with temperature decreases and results from the large atomic vibrations of the carbon atoms constituting the fullerene molecules. This motion assumes a small but finite probability to find the carbon atoms in the fcc interstitial voids, which is modeled by the detected 'phantom' occupancies.

Raman spectra indicate the fullerene-type of the onions shells. The onions phase is a stable phase in a diamond instability zone of a phase diagram of carbon at pressure 70 GPa and temperature 2400 K.

The involvement of bacterial RNAs in communication with other bacteria is also expected, but has not been documented yet. Here, we compared the fractions of extremely short (12-22 nucleotides) RNAs secreted by Escherichia coli grown in a pure culture and jointly with bacteria of the Paenibacillus genus.

Two groups were observed among the residents of houses near the main crossroads and along highways. As a reference group, residents of houses distant from highways were selected.

In silico assessment of chemical liabilities is an important step aimed to reduce costs and animal testing by complementing or replacing in vitro and in vivo experiments. Herein, we propose an approach combining several classification and chemography methods to be able to predict chemical liabilities and to interpret obtained results in the context of impact of structural changes of compounds on their pharmacological profile.

The blockade of hERG channels in heart cells can result in a potentially fatal disorder called long QT syndrome. HERG channels can be blocked by compounds with diverse structures belonging to several drug classes.

Entry into the ZDRS, which is not observable above several Kelvins, is accompanied by a sharp dip in the differential resistance. Additional analysis reveals an instability of the electrons for I>I th and an inhomogeneous, nonstationary pattern of the electric current.

Tryptophan (trp) phosphorescence intensity is higher in both normal glandular and adipose tissue when compared to malignant tissue. An algorithm based on the ratio of trp fluorescence intensity at 345 nm to phosphorescence intensity at 500 nm is successfully used to separate normal from malignant tissue types.

The calculations prove that average serum lead level in children residents of cities with low environmental lead content approximates 10 mg/dl. This value in cities with high environmental lead content could be nearly 2 times higher and equals 18.9 mg/dl.

The integral "profile" of the groups of inpatients suffering from somatogenic chronic painful syndromes was plotted on a material of a comprehensive study into central and peripheral hormones, the total content, and correlations. Enkephalins are shown to play the integrating part in the development of stress-algogenic reactions.

The increased cortisol/insulin ratio correlated with a reduction of the body mass of patients.

Secretion of histamine, serotonin, insulin, and hydrocortisone was increased in spring and reduced in autumn. Secretion of adrenalin, noradrenalin and acetylcholinesterase activity were high in summer and low in autumn.
