Amongst Ewing sarcoma family of tumours, (EFST), cutaneous/subcutaneous Ewing sarcoma are defined as tumours arising from cutaneous or subcutaneous tissue, not invading the underlying aponeurosis. They are rare tumours, with less than 200 patients published. They are typically small tumours (less than 5cm), and can arise at any anatomical location, with a particular tropism for distal, truncal and head/neck locations, compared to classical Ewing sarcoma.

Patients who develop Ewing sarcoma with extra-pulmonary metastasis have a poor prognosis. A recent French protocol, CombinaiR3, was set up to evaluate the efficacy of induction chemotherapy followed by high-dose chemotherapy and metronomic maintenance treatment. It is now closed for inclusions and while waiting for the results, we propose a French consensus guideline for the management of patients diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma with extra-pulmonary dissemination.

Introduction: Ankle sprains, one of the most frequent accidental injuries in traumatology, can lead to chronic instability. Although arthroscopic anatomic ankle ligament reconstruction seems to provide good results, very few studies have specifically examined the outcomes of this procedure. The main goal of this study was to evaluate the rate of and delay to return to sport (RTS) at the preinjury level after anatomic ligament reconstruction and the predictive factors of a RTS in an athletic population.

Importance: All children experience upper respiratory tract illnesses (URI) caused by viral infections. However, some of these illnesses progress to the lower airways. Although studies have found infection with certain viral species are more likely to trigger lower respiratory illnesses (LRIs), a comprehensive analysis of viruses underlying early-life LRIs is lacking.

Although the ICH S7A guideline on safety pharmacology largely achieved its objective, a proportion of remaining adverse drug reactions and attrition can be attributed in part to gaps in safety and secondary pharmacology assessments. Advances in science, technology, drug development paradigm and regulatory practices necessitate revisiting and evolving ICH S7A to address these limitations. The anticipated completion of the ICH S7B Q&As by end of 2025 provides an opportunity to integrate its outcomes with ICH S7A into a comprehensive, modality-agnostic sustainable over time framework.

Temporarily reducing retinal stimulation when exposed to a hazardous photic stimulus by activating a rapidly responding electrochromic material could provide a novel seizure prevention method, referred to as the "EpilepSee Glasses", for people with photosensitive epilepsy.Analysis of an electroencephalogram (EEG) recording has shown reduced photoparoxysmal responses when exposed to flashing light whilst wearing a pair of glasses with one lens covered by an electrochromic material. By characterising the variation of the light seen in a user's field of vision in real time, and exploiting the fact that a stimulus must, on average, be present for at least 1 second to cause a seizure, the glasses' lens only needs to activate upon detection of a potentially harmful stimulus.

Research results about the structure, acid-base, redox, and adsorption characteristics of zinc(yttrium)-containing dealuminated BEA zeolites (Si/Al=1000), Zn(Y)SiBEA and their catalytic properties in the propane dehydrogenation with CO (CO-PDH) are presented. The catalysts were prepared through a two-step procedure involving complete dealumination of the BEA zeolite followed by the introduction of Zn and Y cations into vacant T-atom sites, by impregnation. The samples obtained were characterized using XRD, XPS, Si DP MAS NMR, low-temperature N ad/desorption, TPR-H, CH/CH (CO, NH)-TPD, and FTIR-Py techniques.

Background: Established genetic biomarkers in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) have been useful in predicting response to chemoimmunotherapy but are less predictive of response to targeted therapies. With several such targeted therapies now approved for CLL, identifying novel, non-genetic predictive biomarkers of response may help to select the optimal therapy for individual patients.

Methods: We coupled data from a functional precision medicine technique called BH3-profiling, which assesses cellular cytochrome c loss levels as indicators for survival dependence on anti-apoptotic proteins, with multi-omics data consisting of targeted and whole-exome sequencing, genome-wide DNA methylation profiles, RNA-sequencing, protein and functional analyses, to identify biomarkers for treatment response in CLL patients.

Monitoring quality of healthcare is vital to ensure that changes made to clinical practice achieve the intended goals. Assessing temporal trends due to the accumulated effect of all changes in clinical practice in a given period is essential in quality monitoring. However, this assesment is compplicated by the fact that numerous of changes might occour over time unrelated to the clinical practice.

Spacecraft using combustion engines require substantial amounts of oxygen for their propellant. The Moon could be a source of oxygen for rocket propellant, since the material composing the lunar surface can be processed to extract oxygen. However, little is known about overall energy requirements of the processes described in the literature for oxygen extraction from lunar regolith.

Aim: Effective management strategies for conserving biodiversity and mitigating the impacts of global change rely on access to comprehensive and up-to-date biodiversity data. However, manual search, retrieval, evaluation, and integration of this information into databases present a significant challenge to keeping pace with the rapid influx of large amounts of data, hindering its utility in contemporary decision-making processes. Automating these tasks through advanced algorithms holds immense potential to revolutionize biodiversity monitoring.
