LGBTQ+ bullying is a specific type of stigma-based bullying with a high prevalence among LGBTQ+ people. However, instruments to assess this phenomenon are scarce and focus on homophobic aggressions, and the motivations therefor, mainly in relation to gay and lesbian youths. In this study, we introduce and validate an instrument to assess LGBTQ+ bullying.

Scientific interest in lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and any other sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression (LGBTQ+) bullying in educational settings has grown exponentially in recent years. However, the varied ways of measuring its occurrence and associated factors have made it difficult to achieve a holistic understanding of this problem. Therefore, this systematic review aimed to provide an updated overview of individual and contextual factors related to LGBTQ+ bullying over the past two decades, based on the measurement approach to this phenomenon.

There is a paucity of studies on dating violence profiles that incorporate the forms of cyber and sexual dating violence. Moreover, the results on the predictive role of peer violence on dating violence are inconsistent. Our aim was to identify dating violence profiles and to study the predictive value of peer violence profiles on dating violence profiles using a short-term longitudinal design.

Sexting refers to the exchange of sexual content material technological devices. The definitions of this phenomenon vary greatly, mainly, depending on the types of sexting: primary and secondary. Besides the above, there is no common perspective on whether sexting is a risk behavior that entails some type of impact by itself or not and, in such a case, whether this impact varies according to gender.

Gender-based differences in body image dissatisfaction are not conclusive. Women's body experiences and their impact on sexual satisfaction may advance knowledge on how heterosexual, bisexual, and lesbian women internalize heterosexist values. In this study, we quantitatively examined the degree of body image and sexual dissatisfaction experienced by heterosexual, bisexual, and lesbian women, to determine whether body dissatisfaction can predict sexual dissatisfaction.

Cyberbullying is a phenomenon with important adverse consequences on victims. The emotional impact of this phenomenon has been well established. However, there is to date no instrument with good psychometric properties tested to assess such impact.

Bullying and cyberbullying have been studied extensively. In lesbian, gay, bisexual, and questioning (LGBQ) students, these phenomena seem to be overrepresented so that, although they share some common elements, homophobic bullying and cyberbullying could be considered as specific phenomena. This study analyzed homophobic bullying and cyberbullying, with the participation of 533 Spanish secondary school students aged from 12 to 20 (M = 14.

Case Report: The case is presented on a patient with primary open-angle glaucoma treated with the novel ultrasound circular cyclocoagulation technique (UC3 [EyeTechCare, Rillieux La Pape, France]), who had previously undergone glaucoma surgery. Due to having extreme palpebral rigidity, worsened by the pre-operative local anesthesia injections, a canthotomy and cantholysis were needed to correctly position of the UC3 probe cone. Clinical outcome as regards the IOP and the surgical wound was very satisfactory.

Energy-dependent patterns in the arrival directions of cosmic rays are searched for using data of the Pierre Auger Observatory. We investigate local regions around the highest-energy cosmic rays with [Formula: see text] eV by analyzing cosmic rays with energies above [Formula: see text] eV arriving within an angular separation of approximately 15[Formula: see text]. We characterize the energy distributions inside these regions by two independent methods, one searching for angular dependence of energy-energy correlations and one searching for collimation of energy along the local system of principal axes of the energy distribution.

Article Synopsis
  • Traditional bullying and cyberbullying have significant negative effects on victims, impacting their academic performance, social integration, and self-esteem, and potentially leading to feelings like anger, sadness, and depression.
  • The study aims to explore how perceived emotional intelligence (PEI) affects the emotional consequences of cybervictimization, hypothesizing that higher emotional intelligence may mitigate negative impacts.
  • The research involved 636 university students and utilized self-report questionnaires; results indicated that PEI moderates the emotional impact of cyberbullying, with specific emotional responses showing distinct relationships to different aspects of PEI.

Several studies show certain co-occurrence of the traditional bullying and the cyberbullying. However, the results about relation and homogeneity among the roles of each of them are not unanimous. The present study intends to advance in the knowledge about the above-mentioned co-occurrence by exploring the dimensions of victimization and traditional aggression and cyber-victimization and cyber-aggression and by identifying its eventual directionality.

Article Synopsis
  • The study analyzes the emotional impact of both traditional bullying and cyberbullying on adolescents from Italy, Spain, and England, involving 5,862 participants.
  • The results indicate a significant prevalence of these bullying types and reveal distinct emotional profiles linked to each form of bullying.
  • Factors like school grade, gender, country, and severity of bullying were also found to influence the emotional responses of victims.

The disposition and metabolism of paraherquamide (PHQ), a potent and broad-spectrum anthelminthic, were examined in sheep, dogs, and gerbils. The metabolism of PHQ in these species was extensive and marked by significant species differences both in vitro and in vivo. In sheep and gerbils, PHQ metabolism occurs mainly at the pyrrolidine moiety, generating several metabolites that, for the most part, retained nematodicidal activity in vitro.

Cellular oxidative stress causes increased lipid peroxidation with the concomitant formation of DNA and protein reactive bifunctional electrophiles. Glutathione (GSH) detoxifies these bifunctional electrophiles by forming GSH adducts. Several years ago we discovered 4-oxo-2(E)-nonenal (ONE) as a major bifunctional electrophile derived from lipid hydroperoxides.

[3R,5R,6S]-3-(2-cyclopropyloxy-5-trifluoromethoxyphenyl)-6-phenyl-1-oxa-7-azaspiro[4.5]decane is a substance P (Neurokinin 1 receptor) antagonist. Substance P antagonists are proven in concept to have excellent potential for the treatment of major depression, and they allow superior and sustained protection from acute and delayed chemotherapy-induced emesis.

Stable cyclotriphosphazenes 4 and 5, incorporating one and two carbon radical centers, respectively, have been easily prepared and characterized. EPR spectroscopic studies in fluid solution at room temperature were carried out for both compounds and also for diradical 5 in frozen solvent matrixes. Spectral results are consistent with a triplet or degenerate singlet triplet ground state for 5.

Complete reduction of oscillators in resonance p:q.

Phys Rev E Stat Phys Plasmas Fluids Relat Interdiscip Topics

June 2000

This paper extends to any type of resonance (p:q) the Lissajous transformation that handles the resonance (1:1) in a Hamiltonian composed of two harmonic oscillators. The manifolds of constant energy for such a system are two-dimensional surfaces of revolution that are spheres for the resonance 1:1, spheres pinched once for the resonances (1:q) when 1 View Article and Find Full Text PDF

Quadratic Hamiltonians with the phase space on the S (2) sphere represent numerous dynamical systems. There are only two classes of quadratic Hamiltonians depending on two parameters. We analyze the occurrence of bifurcations and we obtain the bifurcation lines in the parameter plane for one of these classes, thus complementing the work done in a previous paper where the other class was analyzed.

Numerous dynamical systems are represented by quadratic Hamiltonians with the phase space on the S (2) sphere. For a class of these Hamiltonians depending on two parameters, we analyze the occurrence of bifurcations and we obtain the bifurcation lines in the parameter plane. As the parameters evolve, the appearance-disappearance of homoclinic orbits in the phase portrait is governed by three types of bifurcations, the pitchfork, the teardrop and the oyster bifurcations.
