The multifaceted nature of multiple sclerosis requires quantitative biomarkers that can provide insights related to diverse physiological pathways. To this end, proteomic analysis of deeply-phenotyped serum samples, biological pathway modeling, and network analysis were performed to elucidate inflammatory and neurodegenerative processes, identifying sensitive biomarkers of multiple sclerosis disease activity. Methods: In this phase 2 trial, we randomly assigned participants with early-stage Parkinson's disease in a 1:1:1 ratio to receive intravenous placebo or prasinezumab at a dose of 1500 mg or 4500 mg every 4 weeks for 52 weeks.
Patients with immune-mediated kidney diseases are at increased risk of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Using a novel method to accurately capture upper cervical cord area from legacy brain MRI scans we aimed to study the role of spinal cord and brain atrophy for silent progression and conversion to secondary progressive disease (SPMS).
Methods: From a single-center observational study, all RRMS (n = 360) and SPMS (n = 47) patients and 80 matched controls were evaluated.
Objective: To evaluate the relationship between circulating phenylalanine and brain function as well as neuropsychiatric symptoms in adults with phenylketonuria.
Methods: In this prospective cross-sectional study, early-treated patients with phenylketonuria older than 30 years and age- and sex-matched controls were included. Extensive neurologic evaluation, neuropsychological and behavioral testing, sensory and motor evoked potentials, and MRI were performed.
Background: Ofatumumab, a subcutaneous anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, selectively depletes B cells. Teriflunomide, an oral inhibitor of pyrimidine synthesis, reduces T-cell and B-cell activation. The relative effects of these two drugs in patients with multiple sclerosis are not known.

A measurement of splitting scales, as defined by the clustering algorithm, is presented for final states containing a boson produced in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. The measurement is based on the full 2010 data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb which was collected using the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. Cluster splitting scales are measured in events containing bosons decaying to electrons or muons.

Methods: A cross-sectional survey of a representative sample of the German general population with persons >or= 14 years of age was conducted based on face-to-face contacts. Physical distress was measured by the regional pain scale (RPS) and the Patient Health Questionnaire 15 (PHQ-15), psychological distress by the PHQ-9, and social distress by the Oslo Social Support Scale.
The sensor kinase KdpD and the response regulator KdpE control induction of the kdpFABC operon encoding the high-affinity K(+)-transport system KdpFABC in response to K(+) limitation or salt stress. Under K(+) limiting conditions the Kdp system restores the intracellular K(+) concentration, while in response to salt stress K(+) is accumulated far above the normal content. The kinase activity of KdpD is inhibited at high concentrations of K(+), so it has been puzzling how the sensor can be activated in response to salt stress.
