Chemical looping gasification (CLG) is a novel dual fluidized bed gasification process that enables the conversion of solid feedstocks to a nitrogen-free syngas through in situ air separation, avoiding a costly air separation unit. While there have been recent advances in experimental studies, modeling of CLG is almost exclusively restricted to lab-scale units or 1D models. Considerable progress has been made in the genomics of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) since the 6th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension, with the identification of rare variants in several novel genes, as well as common variants that confer a modest increase in PAH risk. Gene and variant curation by an expert panel now provides a robust framework for knowing which genes to test and how to interpret variants in clinical practice. We recommend that genetic testing be offered to specific subgroups of symptomatic patients with PAH, and to children with certain types of group 3 pulmonary hypertension (PH).

Federated learning (FL) is a method used for training artificial intelligence models with data from multiple sources while maintaining data anonymity, thus removing many barriers to data sharing. The synthesis of a series of molecular turnstiles that contained both H-bond-donor and -acceptor sites was achieved. Their structures were based on tetra-aryl X(2)Sn(IV) porphyrins (X=Cl or OH) as H-bond-acceptor sites that were equipped with a rotor that contained a pyridyldiamide moiety as a H-bond donor. In the solution phase, 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopic analysis showed that switching between the closed state, which resulted from the formation of intramolecular H-bonds, and the open state of the turnstile was achieved by using external H-bond-acceptor molecules, such as DMSO.
