Efficacy of Dabrafenib Plus Trametinib Combination in Patients with V600E-Mutant NSCLC in Real-World Setting: GFPC 01-2019.

Dabrafenib plus trametinib combination is approved in Europe for V600E-mutant metastatic non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The objective of this study was to assess efficacy and safety of this combination in a real-world setting. This retrospective multicentric study included 40 patients with advanced NSCLC harboring V600E mutation and receiving dabrafenib plus trametinib.

Lymphatic Vasculature Requires Estrogen Receptor-α Signaling to Protect From Lymphedema.

Objective: Estrogens exert beneficial effect on the blood vascular system. However, their role on the lymphatic system has been poorly investigated. We studied the protective effect of the 17β estradiol-the most potent endogenous estrogen-in lymphedema-a lymphatic dysfunction, which results in a massive fluid and fat accumulation in the limb.

Metabolic effects of fasting on human and mouse blood in vivo.

Starvation is a strong physiological stimulus of macroautophagy/autophagy. In this study, we addressed the question as to whether it would be possible to measure autophagy in blood cells after nutrient deprivation. Fasting of mice for 48 h (which causes ∼20% weight loss) or starvation of human volunteers for up to 4 d (which causes <2% weight loss) provokes major changes in the plasma metabolome, yet induces only relatively minor alterations in the intracellular metabolome of circulating leukocytes.

Aerobic palladium(II)-catalyzed dehydrogenative heck reaction in the synthesis of pyrenyl fluorophores. a photophysical study of β-pyrenyl acrylates in solution and in the solid state.

An aerobic dehydrogenative Heck reaction of pyrene (1a) and 2,7-di-tert-butylpyrene (1b) with ethyl acrylate is reported. The reaction is catalyzed by a Pd(OAc)2/4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (DAF) system and takes place in acetic or pivalic acid as solvents at 110-130 °C. The reaction of 1a afforded a 6:1 mixture of C-1- and C-4-alkenylated pyrenes (2a and 3a, respectively) in 71% yield.

In vitro transforming capacities of mouse c-jun:junD chimeric genes.

Among the murine Jun family of transcription factors, c-Jun and JunD are closely-related proteins with similar dimerization, DNA binding and transactivating properties. However, when expressed from a self-replicating retroviral RCAS vector, c-jun, but not junD, transforms chick embryo fibroblasts. We attempted to map the regions of c-jun which are important for transformation by constructing hybrids between c-jun and junD.
