Purpose: Recurrent anterior glenohumeral instability (RASI) is commonly treated with arthroscopic techniques, though their effectiveness in providing stability may diminish in cases of critical glenoid bone loss. This study aimed to compare the stability outcomes and range of motion (ROM) associated with an arthroscopic subscapular sling procedure (SSP), first introduced in 2015.
Methods: Sixteen fresh-frozen human cadaveric shoulder specimens were biomechanically evaluated in four conditions: native, injured, post-SSP and post-LP.
Aromatic compounds persist as hazardous contaminants in both aquatic and terrestrial environments, needing rapid and effective remediation strategies. This study evaluated toluene and benzene biodegradation under sulfate and nitrate-reducing conditions in column experiments, utilizing aquifer sediments from a contaminated site. Over a period of 36 weeks, four glass columns were operated simultaneously in an alternating flow-batch regime.

Background And Objective: Degenerative meniscus tissue has been associated with a lower elastic modulus and can lead to the development of arthrosis. Safe intraoperative measurement of in vivo elastic modulus of the human meniscus could contribute to a better understanding of meniscus health, and for developing surgical simulators where novice surgeons can learn to distinguish healthy from degenerative meniscus tissue. Such measurement can also support intraoperative decision-making by providing a quantitative measure of the meniscus health condition.

More recently, clinical studies have suggested that some fractures have concomitant partial deltoid ligament injury with the deep posterior tibiotalar ligament intact (SER4a), allowing for nonoperative treatment in this subgroup. This study explores whether plate fixation of the fibula improves ankle stability in an SER4a injury model.

Recent studies have indicated that partial deltoid ligament rupture is common and may allow for nonoperative treatment of stress-unstable ankles if normal tibiotalar alignment is obtained in the weightbearing position. Biomechanical support for this principle is scarce.
