Acral arteriovenous tumor (cirsoid aneurysm): clinical and histopathological analysis of 6 cases.

Aim: The aim of this study is to have a further insight into this vascular tumor both clinically and histopathologically.

Methods: We examined 6 cases of acral arteriovenous tumor. Histochemically Masson trichrom, elastic van Gieson and immunohistochemically Desmin, Factor VIII, S100 and Mast cell tryptase were applied to the paraffin sections to evaluate the content of the vessels and mast cell distribution within the lesion.

A sensitive staining method for NORs.

A sensitive staining method for nucleolar organizer regions (NORs) is described, using blue toning of AgNORs. NORs are loops of DNA which are transcribed into ribosomal RNA. NORs can be demonstrated by staining with silver nitrate, since NOR-associated proteins are argyrophilic, producing structures termed AgNORs.

Hydronephrotic type of bilateral multicystic dysplastic kidney. An unusual case.

25 year-old pregnant woman was admitted at week 29 of fetal development for routine ultrasonic evaluation of growth. Sonography of the fetal body revealed two cystic anechoic septated structures bilaterally. At autopsy of the stillborn neonate pathology confirmed congenital multicystic dysplastic kidney.

Primary ovarian pregnancy. A case report.

A primary ovarian pregnancy was diagnosed in a patient with intrauterine device. Primary ovarian pregnancy which is a rare form of ectopic pregnancy, was reviewed according to etiology, pathogenesis and improvements in diagnosis and therapy.
