Probable Molecular Targeting of Inhibitory Effect of Carvacrol-Loaded Bovine Serum Albumin Nanoparticles on Human Breast Adenocarcinoma Cells.

Objective: To entrap carvacrol (CAR) in bovine serum albumin nanoparticles (BSANPs) to form CAR-loaded BSANPs (CAR@BSANPs) and to explore the anti-cancer effects in breast adenocarcinoma cells (MCF-7 cells) treated with CAR and CAR@BSANPs.

Methods: A desolvation method was used to synthesize BSANPs and CAR@BSANPs. The BSANPs and CAR@BSANPs were characterized by several physicochemical methods, including visual observation, high-resolution field emission scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and high-performance liquid chromatography.

Misdiagnosis in an Autistic Adolescent.

With the increase in autism diagnoses in recent years due to improved public and clinical awareness, the association between autism and mental health has emerged as an important issue for patients and their caregivers. Although many with autism spectrum disorder also have coexisting mental health conditions, there exist differences in the presentation and etiology of these symptoms. This case report explains an interaction with a 17-year-old adolescent autistic male with a history of mild depression who was found non-responsive in the shower at home.

Anti-cancer activity of secreted aspartyl proteinase protein from Candida tropicalis on human cervical cancer HeLa cells.

Cervical cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in women worldwide. Microbial products are valuable sources of anti-cancer drugs. The aim of this study was to isolate secreted aspartyl proteinase protein from Candida tropicalis, investigate its inhibitory effect on human cervical cancer HeLa cells, and analyze the expression profiling of selected nuclear stem cell-associated transcription factors.

Purpose Of Review: Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a chronic disorder in which a person loses control over the use of opioids, develops a compulsive behavior, and defends the use despite knowing the negative consequences. There are numerous treatments for OUD, including buprenorphine. Since it is displacing a full agonist opioid, precipitated withdrawal can occur with standard inductions involving buprenorphine.
