Aberrant migration of Spirocerca Lupi to the spinal cord in dogs: Association of clinical signs, CSF analysis, preventive treatment, and outcome.

Spirocerca lupi is a nematode typically targeting the esophageal wall but may also migrate to the spinal cord. This study aimed to characterize the clinical presentation, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) findings, prognostic factors, and outcomes of dogs with spinal S. lupi (SSL) aberrant migration, and to evaluate prophylactic treatment efficacy.

Urinary incontinence associated with Mesocestoides vogae infection in a dog.

Peritoneal larval cestodiasis caused by Mesocestoides spp. is a rare infection in dogs. A 6-year-old female dog was presented for veterinary care with urinary incontinence which started 1 year earlier.

Successful treatment of an intra-pelvic fungal pseudomycetoma causing constipation and hypercalcaemia in a Persian cat.

This case report describes the successful treatment of a Persian cat diagnosed with intra-abdominal fungal pseudomycetoma causing hypercalcaemia and constipation due to an extra-luminal mechanical obstruction of the colon. Treatment included surgical excision, supportive care and itraconazole for 6 months.

Solitons in a linearly coupled system with separated dispersion and nonlinearity.

We introduce a model of dual-core waveguide with the cubic nonlinearity and group-velocity dispersion (GVD) confined to different cores, with the linear coupling between them. The model can be realized in terms of photonic-crystal fibers. It opens a way to understand how solitons are sustained by the interplay between the nonlinearity and GVD which are not "mixed" in a single nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation, but are instead separated and mix indirectly, through the linear coupling between the two cores.
