In this computational study, we explore the folding of a particular sequence using various computational tools to produce two-dimensional structures, which are then transformed into three-dimensional structures. We then study the geometry, energetics and dynamics of these structures using full electron quantum-chemical and classical molecular dynamics calculations. Our study focuses on the SARS-CoV-2 RNA fragment GGaGGaGGuguugcaGG and its various structures, including a G-quadruplex and five different hairpins.

The new high selective mAChRs M3 inhibitors with IC in nanomolecular ranges, which can be the prototypes for effective COPD and asthma treatment drugs, were discovered with computational approaches among trifluoromethyl containing hexahydropyrimidinones/thiones. Compounds [6-(4-ethoxy-3-methoxy-phenyl)-4-hydroxy-2-thioxo-4-(trifluoromethyl)hexahydropyrimidin-5-yl]-phenyl-methanone (THPT-1) and 5-benzoyl-6-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-4-hydroxy-4-(trifluoromethyl)hexahydropyrimidin-2-one (THPO-4) have been proved to be a highly effective (with IC values of 1.62 ⋅ 10  M and 3.

Article Synopsis
  • * In the study, specific genes (one dioxygenase and two P450 genes) were found to be more highly expressed in R plants compared to susceptible ones, contributing to herbicide resistance.
  • * Overexpressing these genes led to lower levels of mesotrione in plants and also provided resistance to other herbicides, suggesting that multiple gene overexpression may boost overall herbicide resistance in this raddish population.

Frequent herbicide use selects for herbicide resistance in weeds. Cytochrome P450s are important detoxification enzymes responsible for herbicide resistance in plants. We identified and characterized a candidate P450 gene (BsCYP81Q32) from the problematic weed Beckmannia syzigachne to test whether it conferred metabolic resistance to the acetolactate synthase-inhibiting herbicides mesosulfuron-methyl, bispyribac-sodium, and pyriminobac-methyl.

Modern cutting edge technologies of chemical synthesis enable the production of unique nanostructures with excess energy and high reactivity. Uncontrolled use of such materials in the food industry and pharmacology entail a risk for the development of a nanotoxicity crisis. Using the methods of tensometry, mechanokinetic analysis, biochemical methods, and bioinformatics, the current study showed that chronic (for six months) intragastrical burdening of rats with aqueous nanocolloids (AN) ZnO and TiO caused violations of the pacemaker-dependent mechanisms of regulation of spontaneous and neurotransmitter-induced contractions of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) smooth muscles (SMs), and transformed the contraction efficiency indices (AU, in Alexandria units).
