Regulation of physiological and pathological condensates by molecular chaperones.

Biomolecular condensates are dynamic membraneless compartments that regulate a myriad of cellular functions. A particular type of physiological condensate called stress granules (SGs) has gained increasing interest due to its role in the cellular stress response and various diseases. SGs, composed of several hundred RNA-binding proteins, form transiently in response to stress to protect mRNAs from translation and disassemble when the stress subsides.

Right atrial reverse remodeling and risk of atrial arrhythmias after surgical pulmonary valve replacement.

Background: Right atrial (RA) dysfunction and atrial arrhythmias are relatively common in adults with repaired tetralogy of Fallot. The purpose of this study was to determine whether RA function improved after surgical pulmonary valve replacement (PVR), and the association between postoperative RA reverse remodeling and late postoperative atrial arrhythmias.

Method: RA reverse remodeling (ΔRA reservoir strain based speckle tracking echocardiography) was calculated as: ([postoperative RA reservoir strain - preoperative RA reservoir strain]/preoperative RA reservoir strain)x100.

Asymptomatic Peripheral Arterial Disease Among Jordanian Patients With Diabetic Foot Ulcer.

Background and objective Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a common disorder that is usually associated with leg symptoms such as intermittent claudication (IC), which could be masked by peripheral neuropathy in diabetic patients. In this study, we aimed to assess the prevalence and associated risk factors of asymptomatic PAD among Jordanian patients with diabetic foot ulcers. Methods A cross-sectional study involving diabetic foot patients attending the diabetic foot clinic at the Medical City in Royal Medical Services in Amman, Jordan, was conducted from January 2023 to March 2024.

An evaluation of the recently approved drugs for treating atopic dermatitis in the context of their safety and efficacy: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: The present paper aimed to conduct an updated systematic review and meta-analysis to evaluate the safety and efficacy of crisaborole, delgocitinib, and ruxolitinib in treating mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis (AD).

Methods: MEDLINE and Google Scholar databases were utilized to search articles published during the years 2015-2024. The review was limited to randomized controlled studies that measured specific outcomes for safety and efficacy aspects, including adverse events (AEs) or treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) to evaluate safety and Investigator's static global assessment (ISGA) or improvement of at least 75% of Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI-75) to evaluate efficacy.

Haematometra arising from multiple abortions: a comprehensive case report.

Haematometra, a rare and delayed complication, can emerge following medical termination of pregnancy, also known as 'postabortal post-caesarean syndrome' or 'redo syndrome'. Treatment requires the immediate evacuation of both liquid and clotted blood for quick resolution, followed by administration of an oxytocic agent to ensure complete recovery. This current report describes a female patient in her mid-30s who presented with colicky lower abdominal pain following a medically-induced abortion at 10 weeks.
