Bibliometric Analysis of the Role of Occludin in the Pathogenesis of Stroke.

Over the past decade, there has been a notable surge in research dedicated to unraveling the intricate role of tight junction proteins in blood-brain barrier (BBB) damage associated with ischemic stroke. This bibliometric analysis explores the expansive landscape of occludin research, a key tight junction protein, during the years 2000-2023, shedding light on the global scientific contributions, collaborations, and emerging trends in this critical area of stroke pathogenesis. China and the United States emerge as significant contributors, underscoring their prominence in advancing our understanding of tight junction proteins.

Effect of plasticizers on the rheological properties of xanthan gum - starch biodegradable films.

The effect of plasticizers, namely glycerol, sorbitol, and citric acid, on the structural and mechanical properties of biodegradable films obtained from xanthan gum (XG) and starch was studied. The plasticizing effect of glycerol, sorbitol, and citric acid on XG-starch films is justified by the destruction of intermolecular contacts between starch and XG macromolecules and the redistribution of hydrogen bonds in the system as a result of the hydrotropic action of plasticizer molecules. The use of glycerol proved to be the most effective for regulating the deformation of films, while the use of sorbitol to preserve strength.

ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS FOR ISCHEMIC STROKE IN RURAL RESIDENTS OF THE AKTOBE REGION.

Stroke continues to be a major global health concern, accounting for the fifth highest death rate and a sizable portion of the world's disability burden. Over 40,000 stroke cases are reported annually in the Republic of Kazakhstan, of which 5,000 people die within the first 10 days and an additional 5,000 within a month after discharge. Even with the establishment of regional stroke centers, a state anti-stroke program, and substantial efforts, rural communities still experience higher rates of stroke-related morbidity and mortality.

[Rehabilitation of patients in the recovery period after stroke in Kazakhstan].

Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of complex rehabilitation of post stroke patients in a Stroke Rehabilitation Centre.

Material And Methods: The results of rehabilitative treatment of 86 patients, aged from 50 to 68 years, in early and late recovery periods of ischemic stroke in the middle cerebral artery were analyzed. Neurological deficit was assessed with the Scandinavian Stroke Scale, the dynamics of recovery of neurological disorder with Barthel daily activity index, the degree of misbalance with the modified Rankin scale.
