Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT) was widely known as a disease characterized by development of thrombosis with thrombocytopenia after heparin exposure. In addition, vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT) has been described as a fatal disease involving simultaneous bleeding and thrombosis after COVID-19 adenovirus vector vaccination. These were caused by HIT antibodies and anti-PF4 antibodies, respectively, but both were autoantibodies that recognized PF4, and were found to have the same pathology with different severities.

Thrombosis after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 vaccination is a serious complication in patients with a thrombophilic predisposition. Herein, we present a 17-year-old female who had underlying antiphospholipid syndrome (APS) and developed deep vein thrombosis (DVT) 6 months after her second BNT162b2 vaccine dose. Although she had no family history of thrombosis, she had previously developed DVT at 6 years of age, with thrombus formation in the right common iliac vein and the inferior vena cava, along with concomitant left pulmonary infarction.

Early B-cell factor 1 (EBF1) is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor essential for the differentiation of various tissues. Our single-cell RNA sequencing data suggest that is expressed in the sensory epithelium of the mouse inner ear. Here, we found that the murine gene and its protein are expressed in the prosensory domain of the inner ear, medial region of the cochlear duct floor, otic mesenchyme, and cochleovestibular ganglion.
