Five pregnane C21-steroids, including three 5,6-epoxy steroids (1-3) and two 8,14-seco-steroids (4 and 5), were isolated from the acid hydrolysate of Cynanchum bungei roots. Cynbungenins L-O (1-4) are previously undescribed compounds. Compound 3 with a 5a,6a-epoxy group represents the first example found in the Cynanchum plants.

The generation of molecules with targeted properties is crucial in biology, chemistry, and drug discovery. Current generative models are limited to using single property values as conditions, struggling with complex customizations described in detailed human language. To address this, we propose the text guidance instead, and introduce TextSMOG, a new via , which integrates language and diffusion models for text-guided small molecule generation.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs), which play critical roles in regulating gene expression and cell functions, are recognized as potential biomarkers for various human diseases, including gastric ulcers. The reliable, specific, and sensitive detection of miRNA is highly recommended for the clinical diagnosis and therapy of different diseases. Herein, we depict a label-free and low-background fluorescent assay for the highly sensitive detection of miRNAs by coupling target miRNA-triggered cyclization of a padlock, circular padlock-mediated catalytic hairpin assembly (CHA), and primer exchange reaction (PER)-assisted signal generation.

MAX (MAX) phases are a novel class of materials with a closely packed hexagonal structure that bridge the gap between metals and ceramics, garnering tremendous research interest worldwide in recent years. Benefiting from their unique layered structure and mixed covalent-ionic-metallic bonding characteristics, MAX phase coatings possess excellent oxidation resistance, and exceptional electrical and thermal conductivities, making them highly promising for applications in advanced nuclear materials, battery plate protection materials, and aero-engine functional materials. This review aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of MAX phase coatings.
