Cancer photoimmunotherapy represents an intelligent and highly efficient therapeutic approach that harnesses the photothermal effect to precisely target and ablate tumor tissues, while simultaneously modulating the immune system to achieve tumor elimination. The integration of multifunctional therapeutic modalities for combined photoimmunotherapy requires advanced drug delivery systems. However, the design of a single nanoagent capable of serving as a multifunctional nanophotosensitizer remains a significant challenge.

The effectiveness of traditional hepatocellular carcinoma treatments such as surgical resection, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy is limited, underscoring the need for innovative therapeutic strategies. To this end, we synthesized phthalyl-pullulan nanoparticles encapsulating IR780 (an NIR-responsive heptamethine cyanine dye) and R848 (resiquimod; a TLR7/8 agonist) (PIR NPs).

The three known PRV genotypes (PRV-1-3) have host species specificity and cause different diseases, but all infect and replicate in red blood cells (RBCs) in early infection phase. PRV-1 is the causative agent of heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI) in farmed Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar), PRV-2 causes erythrocytic inclusion body syndrome (EIBS) in coho salmon (Oncorhynchus kisutch), while PRV-3 induces HSMI-like disease in farmed rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss).

While snoRNAs may also interact with other RNAs, such as mRNA, the full repertoire of RNAs targeted by snoRNA remains elusive due to the lack of effective technologies that identify snoRNA targets transcriptome wide. Here, we develop a chemical crosslinking-based approach that comprehensively detects cellular RNA targets of snoRNAs, yielding thousands of previously unrecognized snoRNA-mRNA interactions in human cells and mouse brain tissues.

This was a randomized open-label trial - in which adults scheduled to receive the influenza vaccine were randomized to 5 mg melatonin or control to evaluate the effect of post-vaccination melatonin on humoral (hemagglutination-inhibition assays, HAI) and cellular (FluoroSpot) vaccine-specific cytokine responses 14-21 days post-vaccination.
