Clinical characteristics, management, and malignancy rate of oral lichen planus: a European multicenter study.

Introduction: Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a chronic inflammatory mucocutaneous condition that includes a spectrum of oral clinical manifestations ranging from mild painless white lesions to painful erosions and ulcers. The purpose of this European multicenter study is to describe the general characteristics of OLP lesions, the clinical and histopathological diagnosis, and the management of OLP at different European Oral Medicine and Maxillofacial Surgery centers, in order to minimize selections biases and provide information about the current trends in the treatment of OLP across Europe.

Materials And Methods: Data and histopathological records of patients with OLP were retrospectives revised and only those patients that fulfilled the diagnostic criteria from the 2016 position paper by American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology were included.

Knowledge, Awareness, and Attitudes Towards HPV and Its Vaccination Among Women in the Medina Region: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: HPV represents one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide, with significant adverse clinical consequences such as cervical cancer. However, the knowledge and awareness regarding HPV and its vaccination, particularly among Saudi women, are still under debate. Our study aims to investigate the knowledge, awareness, and attitude toward HPV and its vaccines among women in the Medina region.

A Retrospective Study Evaluating Asthma Control in Patients on Fluticasone Propionate/Salmeterol Proactive Regular Dosing with a History of Uncontrolled Asthma.

Introduction: The MERIT study in Malaysia is a real-world retrospective, observational, multicenter study that evaluated asthma control in patients with uncontrolled asthma who were switched from as-needed (pro re nata [PRN]) budesonide/formoterol or inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) whenever a short-acting beta-agonist (SABA) was taken, to proactive regular dosing of fluticasone propionate/salmeterol (FP/SAL PRD).

Methods: Data from the medical records of patients who were stepped up to FP/SAL PRD were extracted retrospectively at baseline and follow-up (between 3 and 6 months after stepping up to FP/SAL PRD). The primary endpoint was the percentage of patients with improvement in asthma control assessed via the Asthma Control Test (ACT).

Re-expansion pulmonary oedema: two case reports and review of the current literature.

Re-expansion pulmonary oedema (RPE) is an uncommon complication that occurs when a collapsed lung suddenly re-expands, resulting in an osmotic shift of fluid from the blood vessels into the air spaces within the lungs. This condition can develop following thoracocentesis or intercostal chest drainage. We report two cases of RPE that developed after varying volumes of pleural drainage and at different times.

Condylar Remodeling and Skeletal Changes Following Occlusal Splint and Manual Therapy: A Cone Beam Computed Tomography Study in Temporomandibular Disorders.

: Temporomandibular disorders (TMD) may be associated with degenerative disease of temporomandibular joint (TMJ), such as condyle erosion and subchondral cysts. Occlusal splint and cranio-mandibular manual therapy, or combined therapy, is recommended as a conservative treatment to alleviate pain-related signs and symptoms in TMD. This study aimed to assess osseous condylar changes and skeletal changes following occlusal splint and cranio-mandibular manual therapy in TMD using cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).
