A new occurrence of hydrous andradite within pyroclastic rocks of the Sierra De Bahoruco, Dominican Republic.

The titanium-bearing (up to 3.31 wt% TiO) hydrous andradite [CaNaKFe][Fe AlTiFeMgVMn]SiO(OH) was identified within intensely altered and weathered pyroclastic rocks in the Sierra de Bahoruco region in the Dominican Republic. It forms small isolated euhedral crystals, infillings of fissures and fractures, and large polycrystalline aggregates, in close paragenesis with clinochlore and calcite.

Background People living with HIV continue to face laws, policies, and practices that impact their potential for travel and migration. These laws include: mandatory HIV testing and involuntary disclosure of HIV; lack of access to affordable HIV-related health care, treatment and counselling during the migration process; deportation of foreign nationals living with HIV; and restrictions on the length of stays. Methods HIV migration laws were the topic of a half-day community forum held as part of the 12th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science held in Brisbane, Australia, in July 2023.

Background: Australia's response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic relies on widespread availability of rapid, accurate testing and reporting of results to facilitate contact tracing. The extensive geographical area of Australia presents a logistical challenge, with many of the population located distant from a laboratory capable of robust severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) detection. A strategy to address this is the deployment of a mobile facility utilizing novel diagnostic platforms.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to report the course and outcome of SARS-CoV-2 infection in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients treated with disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) in Poland. A major concern for neurologists worldwide is the course and outcome of SARS-CoV-2 infection in patients with MS treated with different DMTs. Although initial studies do not suggest an unfavourable course of infection in this group of patients, the data is limited.

Real-world effectiveness of fingolimod in Polish group of patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

Objectives: Fingolimod is indicated for the treatment of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients with highly aggressive disease characterized by frequent relapses and active magnetic resonance imaging. Its efficacy has been demonstrated in three large phase III trials, used in the regulatory submissions throughout the world. Fingolimod in licensed in Europe since 2011 but with a growing number of disease-modifying drugs (DMD) becoming available for RRMS, it is important to gather real-world evidence data regarding long-term effectiveness in treated patients with MS.
