Background: The receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK)/Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK signaling pathway is one of the most tumorigenic pathways in cancer, with its hyperactivation strongly linked to the aggressive nature of glioblastoma (GBM). Although extensive research has focused on developing therapeutics targeting this pathway, clinical success remains elusive due to the emergence of resistance mechanisms.
Objective: This review investigates how inhibition of the RTK/Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK pathway alters transcription factors, contributing to acquired resistance mechanisms in GBM.
Objectives: We aimed to determine whether the occurrence of early-onset toxicities due to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in treatment-naive patients undergoing their first cycle of FOLFOX/FOLFIRINOX was associated with decreased overall survival, increased risk of treatment cessation, and hospitalization.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study using patient information from community oncology practices. Patients who received their first dose of 5-FU from 1 January 2015 through 1 August 2023 were included.
Introduction: Disabilities affect a substantial portion of the US population, with mental health conditions being predominant. Despite the acknowledged challenges, there is a lack of data on disability prevalence among general surgery residents. This study aimed to compare the prevalence of disabilities in general surgery residents to the national benchmark, investigate the factors that prevent surgery residents from disclosing their disabilities, and assess the presence of a disability policy in a residency program.

Background: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is the second most common malignancy of the liver and has the worst prognosis of any tumor arising from the liver, with a 5-year survival as low as 10%. However, whether the rurality of a patient's residence impacts care received and survival has not been well studied. We aimed to assess differences in care patterns associated with the rurality of patient's residences and their impact on survival outcomes, hypothesizing that patients in rural areas would experience lower survival.
