An Assessment of the Nutritional Profile of Foods Accessible to Incarcerated Males in Alabama.

Many chronic medical conditions that can result from poor nutrition are more prevalent in the incarcerated population than in the general population. With the increasing prevalence of chronic medical conditions and limited knowledge on foods accessible to the population, this study assessed the 4-week menu fed to all incarcerated males at state-run facilities in Alabama. Compared with the Acceptable Macronutrient Distribution Range for the average incarcerated male, the percentage of energy from total fat, saturated fat, sodium, and cholesterol exceeded the recommendation.

Patient Perspectives on the Value of Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy in the Management of Breast Cancer: The PERSPECTIVE Study.

Aims: Oligometastatic disease describes limited metastases amenable to therapy such as stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT). This study aims to understand which outcomes are most important to patients when considering SBRT as a treatment option. The insights gained will help inform future patient-directed trial endpoints and provide valuable guidance to clinicians supporting patients through their decision-making process.

Despite the physiological impact of CHD on pregnancy, current risk stratification scores primarily consider anatomical lesions. We assessed the performance of the novel American Heart Association Anatomic and Physiological (AP) classification system in predicting adverse maternal cardiac, obstetric and fetal events, and compared it with established risk models.

Spontaneous excretion of a pseudomembranous intestinal cast in an infant with an acute diarrhoeal illness: A case report and literature review.

We present a case of an 8-week-old infant with acute bloody diarrhoea and subsequent passage of an intestinal cast. An extensive immune and infection work-up did not reveal a causative aetiology. Histopathology indicated the cast represented an intestinal pseudomembrane.
