Background: Total pancreatectomy and intraportal islet cell auto transplantation (TPIAT) is increasingly being offered to patients with refractory chronic pancreatitis. Understanding factors that impact islet function over time is critical.
Study Design: We evaluated factors associated with islet function over 12 years post TPIAT using mixed meal tolerance testing (MMTT).
Currently commercial colorimetric paper lateral flow immunoassays exhibit insufficient limit of detection (LOD) and limited clinical sensitivity toward the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens, which causes a high false negative rate. To mitigate this issue, a new plasmon-enhanced fluorescence probe was developed for paper lateral flow strips (PLFSs). The probe is made of a sandwich-structured Ag-core@silica@dye@silica-shell nanoparticle in which fluorescent dyes are sandwiched between the plasmonic Ag core and the silica outer shell, and the separation distance between the Ag core and the dye molecules is controlled by the silica space layer.

Delays of 15-18 years have been reported from time of epilepsy diagnosis to surgical evaluation in some settings, though patterns for timely guideline-concordant referrals within integrated care models are not well known and could inform strategies for optimizing guideline-concordant access.
Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study of 1088 patients undergoing epilepsy center evaluation from January 1, 2008 through June 30, 2023 in a Northern California integrated healthcare delivery system (IDS) with a Level 4 Epilepsy Center.

Below a critical temperature [Formula: see text], superconductors transport electrical charge without dissipative energy losses. The application of a magnetic field [Formula: see text] generally acts to suppress [Formula: see text], up to some critical field strength at which [Formula: see text] 0 K. Here, we investigate magnetic field-induced superconductivity in high-quality specimens of the triplet superconductor candidate UTe[Formula: see text] in pulsed magnetic fields up to [Formula: see text] [Formula: see text] 70 T.
