Mucormycosis is a life threatening infection in patients with haematological disease. We introduced a Mucorales-PCR and an aggressive, multidisciplinary management approach for mucormycosis during 2016-2017 and evaluated patient outcomes in 13 patients diagnosed and treated in 2012-2019. Management principle: repeated surgical debridement until biopsies from the resection margins were clean as defined by negative Blankophor microscopy, Mucorales-PCR (both reported within 24 h), and cultures.

In the present study, we report the clinical, immunophenotypic, cytogenetic and molecular characteristics and outcome of APL patients diagnosed and treated in various Hospitals of Greece and Cyprus. We describe the data of ninety-five APL patients who were diagnosed during the last 15 years.

Methods: A total of 81 non-hysterectomized postmenopausal women were allocated either to 17beta-estradiol 1 mg and norethisterone acetate 0.5 mg (E2/NETA, n = 43) or to 17beta-estradiol 1 mg and drospirenone 2 mg (E2/DRSP, n = 38).
We report the case of a 77-year-old man with a very rare breast tumor: hemangioma. The clinical examination found a large (6 cm diameter) lump and mammography revealed a well-defined high-density lesion with lobulated contour. Simple mastectomy was performed.

Methods: One hundred and thirty-two non-hysterectomized postmenopausal women were randomly allocated either to conjugated equine estrogens 0.625 mg plus medroxyprogesterone acetate 5 mg (CEE/MPA, n=38), 17beta-estradiol 2 mg plus norethisterone acetate 1 mg (E2/NETA, n=44) or 17beta-estradiol 1 mg plus norethisterone acetate 0.
