Osteosarcomas of the larynx.

Objectives/hypothesis: The objective was to review the etiology, presentation, treatment, and prognosis in patients with osteosarcoma of the larynx using an illustrative case example.

Study Design: Case report and literature review.

Methods: A case is reported, and a review of all available published cases of osteosarcoma of the larynx is presented.

Spontaneous cervical haematoma resulting from intrathoracic pathology.

Spontaneous cervical haematomas are rare occurrences for which a wide variety of aetiologies have been reported. Although the pathogenesis of this condition can be quite diverse, all known cases have emanated from a cervical source. The authors report the first case of a spontaneous cervical haematoma arising from an intrathoracic source.

Hydroxyapatite cranioplasty in fibrous dysplasia of the skull.

We describe the case of a woman who had complained of worsening headache during the previous year. Analysis of computed tomography imaging and biopsy led to a diagnosis of fibrous dysplasia of the skull. A symptomatic frontal bone lesion was removed, and the resulting defect was repaired with hydroxyapatite cement.

The effects of the M40 protective mask on sleep.

There are very few data available on the effects of respiratory protective masks on sleep. This study was to undertaken to investigate the effects of the M-40 protective mask on sleep architecture. We asked 21 healthy volunteers (18-35 yr) to participate in a two-night study.
