Hemostatic resuscitation is a mainstay in the management of trauma patients. Factors such as blood loss and tissue injury contribute to coagulation and hemodynamic status imbalances. Hemorrhage remains a leading cause of death in trauma patients, despite advances in strategies such as damage control surgery, massive transfusion protocol, and intensive care.

The influence of maize B chromosomes on flowering time was investigated, revealing a tendency for male flowering time to be delayed with an increase in the number of B chromosomes. This research aimed to verify whether the presence of B chromosomes alters the female and male flowering time of Zea mays L. For this purpose, four experiments were carried out, three with inbred lines of the Zapalote Chico race and the last one with the hybrid Cateto x Zapalote Chico.

Background: The VINCat programme focuses on monitoring surgical site infections (SSI) in caesarean sections (CS) performed across affiliated hospitals.

Methods: The study included CS performed from 2008 to 2022, with a follow-up of 30 days after the intervention. The analysis of cumulative incidence rate of SSI was stratified into three 5-year periods (Periods 1-3).

The implementation of sodium-ion batteries for renewable energy storage requires the development of sustainable electrode materials. Usually, these materials are produced through complex energy-intensive processes that are challenging to scale and involve expensive and/or toxic reagents. In this study, sustainable hard carbon materials, some doped with iron, synthesized from sucrose using a simple, fast, and cost-effective two-step eco-friendly process, are investigated as anodes for sodium-ion batteries.

Electrochemical methodologies offer a transformative approach to sustainable chemical synthesis by enabling precise, energy-efficient transformations. Here, we report the selective electrochemical N-formylation of methylamine using methanol as both reagent and solvent, facilitated by a simple glassy carbon electrode. Under optimized conditions, we achieve a faradaic efficiency (FE) of 34% for methylformamide synthesis in a neutral NaClO electrolyte.
