A method for the synthesis of benzoic acids from aryl iodides using two of the most abundant and sustainable feedstocks, carbon dioxide (CO) and water, is disclosed. Central to this method is an effective and selective electrochemical reduction of CO (eCORR) to CO, which mitigates unwanted dehalogenation reactions occurring when H is produced via the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). In a 3-compartment set-up, CO was reduced to CO electrochemically by using a surface-modified silver electrode in aqueous electrolyte.

Background: The study aims to assess the safety and effectiveness of BoneTape™, a new resorbable bone fixation device, using a zygomatic fracture model in rabbits.

Methods: The study followed BoneTape™ samples and control (sham) groups over 2-, 6-, and 12-week periods post-zygomaticomaxillary (ZM) osteotomy and zygomaticofrontal (ZF) disarticulation. The osteotomized segments were analyzed for bone healing, inflammatory response, and tissue healing.

Aims: To analyse the relationship between Mediterranean diet (MedDiet) adherence and epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) and the association between EAT or MedDiet adherence at baseline with AF recurrence after ablation.

Methods And Results: We included 199 patients from the PREDIMAR trial (PREvención con DIeta Mediterránea de Arritmias Recurrentes), in a single centre in this substudy. All of them had a computed tomography with EAT measurement.

Background: Despite significant progress in the areas of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, HIV continues to result in a substantial number of fatalities on a global scale each year. Gaining insights from epidemiological data can prove instrumental in the development of health promotion strategies, particularly within vulnerable populations, such as indigenous groups. Consequently, our study aimed to investigate the prevalence of HIV infection within the indigenous population residing in the second-largest region of Brazil.

Premise: The central Oaxaca Basin has a century-long history of agave cultivation and is hypothesized to be the region of origin of other cultivated crops. Widely cultivated for mezcal production, the perennial crop known as "espadín" is putatively derived from wild Agave angustifolia. Nevertheless, little is known about its genetic relationship to the wild A.
