Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of minimally invasive «burr hole» microsurgery for vestibular schwannoma.
Material And Methods: A retrospective analysis of postoperative outcomes in 50 consecutive patients with vestibular schwannoma was performed. All patients underwent burr hole microsurgery between 2016 and 2020.
Background: Postoperative infections after brain surgery are a serious complication potentially worsening the outcome of surgical treatment. Severe intraoperative hyperglycemia (SIH) contributes to both infectious and noninfectious postoperative complications. However, there are a lack of data on the incidence of SIH in patients undergoing elective neurosurgical brain procedures and its association with the risk of postoperative infections.

The authors report resection of anaplastic convexital meningioma in a middle-aged woman complicated by expected massive blood loss. The most intense bleeding occurred at the final stage of resection and it was impossible to stop it with traditional approaches. The surgeon pressed a standard tachocomb plate moistened with a diluted solution of recombinant activated factor VII (coagil, Russia) to the most bleeding area for 5 minutes.

Introduction: Surgical treatment of cerebral ischemia at the Burdenko Neurosurgical Center for the period from 1999 to 2019 is analyzed in the paper. The details of the treatment strategy in patients with steno-occlusive lesion of craniocervical arteries followed by cerebral ischemia developed over 20 years are discussed in the article. We have analyzed the features of surgical interventions on the major craniocervical arteries in a neurosurgical clinic and the results of this treatment.

Theoretical and practical aspects of the complex treatment of brain and spinal vascular diseases using microsurgical, endovascular and radiosurgical methods are considered. Authors present the data demonstrating that, due to the implementation of the program of development of vascular centers in the Russian Federation, considerable progress was made in the treatment of cerebral aneurisms and hemorrhagic stroke. In author's opinion, wide introduction of surgical methods in the treatment of occlusive lesions of the blood vessels supplying the brain is needed.
