Background: Traditional medicine is a constellation of practices, approaches, knowledge, and beliefs, which encompass material-based medicines, spiritual therapies, and manual techniques applied individually or combined.
Aim: This study seeks to determine the cost and visual status of traditional eye treatments users among new patients at a health facility.
Materials And Methods: This is part of the study titled "Traditional eye practices: A facility-based study in North Central Nigeria.
Ankyloblepharon filiforme adnatum (AFA) is a rare congenital anomaly consisting of partial or complete adhesion of the upper and lower eyelids, and it can be an isolated finding, or associated with other multisystemic anomalies. Its presence should alert the neonatologist of the need for a detailed systemic evaluation. We present a twenty day old baby who presented to our facility on the 8th of August 2019, with bilateral adhesions of the upper and lower eyelids, and had them excised with the use of McPherson's forceps and Vannas scissors, with no sedation or anesthesia.

These injuries can easily be missed; hence, there is a need for the ophthalmic evaluation of patients with maxillofacial trauma. The main objective of this study was to determine the prevalence, patterns, etiology, and risk factors of ophthalmic injuries in patients presenting with maxillofacial trauma in a teaching hospital in North Central Nigeria.
