Liquid crystal materials, with their unique properties and diverse applications, have long captured the attention of researchers and industries alike. From liquid crystal displays and electro-optical devices to advanced sensors and emerging technologies, the study and application of liquid crystals continue to be of paramount importance in the fields of materials science, chemistry and physics. With the ever-increasing complexity and diversity of liquid crystal materials, researchers face new challenges in understanding their behaviors, properties, and potential applications.

Two low-cost digital camera-based platforms for quantitative creatinine analysis in urine.

In clinical analysis creatinine is a routine biomarker for the assessment of renal and muscular dysfunctions. Although several techniques have been proposed for a fast and accurate quantification of creatinine in human serum or urine, most of them require expensive or complex apparatus, advanced sample preparation or skilled operators. To circumvent these issues, we propose two home-made platforms based on a CD Spectroscope (CDS) and Computer Screen Photo-assisted Technique (CSPT) for the rapid assessment of creatinine level in human urine.

[Outcomes of carotid endarterectomy and stenting in patients with carotid artery stenosis].

Analysed in the article are the outcomes of treating a total of 156 patients diagnosed with carotid artery stenosis. Of these, carotid endarterectomy was performed in 82 patients and stenting of carotid arteries was carried out in the remaining 74 patients. The incidence rate of perioperative stroke in the carotid endarterectomy group amounted to 3.

[The results of surgical treatment of critical leg ischemia in dependence on wound microbial flora].

The results of treatment of 82 patients with critical lower limbs ischemia were analyzed. All patients had throphic ulcers and gangrene of one or few foot fingers. The study demonstrated the strong correlation between the type of wound microbial flora, distal vessel lesion extetion, type of the arterial reconstruction and limb 1-year survival results.

[Carotid endarterectomy or carotid stenting: optimal therapeutic decision-making for patients with carotid artery stenoses].

The work was aimed at comparatively studying the outcomes of carotid endarterectomy and carotid stenting for optimal therapeutic decision-making in patients presenting with carotid artery stenoses. We examined and treated a total of one hundred and sixty-seven patients. In the group of endarterectomy, we performed a total of 91 operations in 85 patients, and in the group of carotid stenting, a total of 87 stenting procedures were carried out on the internal carotid artery with cerebral protection in 82 patients.
