The Oropouche Virus (OROV) has Culicoides paraensis as its main vector in the urban cycle. Diagnoses of acute febrile cases and entomological collections were performed between January and April 2024 in the urban setting of Porto Velho, a city located in the western Brazilian Amazon. A total of 904 human samples were evaluated using RT-qPCR, of which 328 were positive for OROV.

The majority of studies have investigated IPC alongside a placebo condition, but without a control condition that was devoid of experimental manipulation, thereby limiting accurate determination of the IPC effects. Therefore, the aims of this study wereto assess the impact of the IPC intervention, compared to both placebo and no intervention, on exercise capacity and athletic performance.

- A multi-center study surveyed 8,650 undergraduate students across eight institutions, using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale to measure resilience and various demographic, economic, and academic factors as independent variables.
- Findings indicated that lower resilience was linked to factors like being female, having low family income, and being from specific academic backgrounds, with an average resilience score of 19.86 out of a possible higher score.
Background: Changes to the food environment during the Covid-19 pandemic significantly influenced food acquisition and consumption, contributing to a higher prevalence of food insecurity. We assessed the perception of the food environment and its association with food insecurity in households of Brazilian schoolchildren during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional telephone survey between March and May 2021 with adults (n = 475) responsible for purchasing and/or preparing food at the students' homes aged between 6 months and 17 years enrolled in public school from two Brazilian municipalities.
