Bone transplantation ranks second worldwide among tissue prosthesis surgeries. Currently, one of the most promising approaches is regenerative medicine, which involves tissue engineering based on polymer scaffolds with biodegradable properties. Once implanted, scaffolds interact directly with the surrounding tissues and in a fairly aggressive environment, which causes biodegradation of the scaffold material.

Recently, a number of message passing neural network (MPNN)-based methods have been introduced that, based on backbone atom coordinates, efficiently recover native amino acid sequences of proteins and predict modifications that result in better expressing, more soluble, and stable variants. However, usually, X-ray structures, or artificial structures generated by algorithms trained on X-ray structures, were employed to define target backbone conformations. Here, we show that commonly used algorithms ProteinMPNN and SolubleMPNN display low sequence recovery on structures determined using NMR.

Stroke is the main cause of disability among adults. Decision-making in stroke rehabilitation is increasingly complex; therefore, the use of decision support systems by healthcare providers is becoming a necessity. However, there is a significant lack of software for the management of post-stroke telerehabilitation (TR).

This work focuses on the first use of ultrasonic phenol-ene coupling as a polymer analogous transformation. The ultrasonic reaction was introduced into chitin chemistry, resulting in the fast and convenient preparation of new water-soluble cationic chitin derivatives. Since water-soluble derivatives of fully deacetylated chitin are poorly described in the literature, the synthesis of each new type of these derivatives is a significant event in polysaccharide chemistry.

We report the synthesis of functionalized cycloheptanes by thermal electrocyclization of heptatrienyl anions under mild conditions. In addition, we disclose the first examples of this electrocyclization manifold conducted under catalytic conditions. Previously, electrocyclization of heptatrienyl systems required formation of anions with a strong base, resulting in limited functional group compatibility.
