Accessible control over the position and orientation of Janus particles within a cluster is crucial for unlocking versatile applications, including targeted drug delivery, self-assembly, micro- and nanomotors, and asymmetric imaging. Nevertheless, precise mechanical manipulation of Janus particles remains a significant practical challenge across these fields.

Disseminated sporotrichosis with osteoarticular involvement in a patient with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome: a case report.

Sporotrichosis is caused by fungi belonging to the genus Sporothrix, and is generally acquired by traumatic inoculation. A 26-year-old man developed pustular lesions and a 6-kg weight loss after developing a lesion on his right hand 6 months previously. He was diagnosed with acquired human immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and disseminated sporotrichosis cultures of bone and muscle biopsy and blood samples grew Sporothrix schenckii.

This article investigates the strategies employed by Antônio Prudente to develop an initiative aimed at combating cancer throughout Brazil, based on his experience in the state of São Paulo. The approach used in the analysis draws on both the historiographical literature and primary sources, focusing on the period from 1934, when the São Paulo Association for the Fight against Cancer was founded, to 1954, when Prudente was appointed director of the National Cancer Service. The study highlights the disputes between cancerologists from the Union and São Paulo, highlighting the uniqueness of the São Paulo proposal, marked by a combination of liberal ideals and the sentiment of "Paulistaness.

New records of Cassidinae and Cerambycidae (Coleoptera: Chrysomeloidea) from Baturité Massif, Brazil, with the description of a new species of Charidotis (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae).

The Baturité massif, situated in Ceará state's central hinterland, is one of the largest humid mountain ranges in the Brazilian semi-arid region. Flora and vertebrate surveys have been conducted in the region, revealing endemic species, as well as a combination of fauna and flora from neighboring biomes, the Atlantic and Amazon rainforests. However, invertebrate inventories have been scarce, leaving a significant portion of the region's biodiversity unexplored.

Visual and refractive outcomes after SMILE versus FS-LASIK: a paired-eye study.

Objective: To compare visual acuity, refraction, Schirmer test, tear break-up time (TBUT), esthesiometry, optical quality, higher order aberrations and posterior corneal elevation measurements before and after small-incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) and femtosecond laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis (FS-LASIK).

Method: Paired eye, randomized, cohort study. Follow-up was performed at days 1 and 7, and at months 1, 3, 6 and 12.
