Objective: The purpose of our study was to investigate the hypothesis of greater severity of autonomic dysfunction in patients with concomitant epileptic and psychogenic non-epileptic seizures (PNES) (main group) compared to patients with exclusively epileptic seizures (comparison group) and healthy subjects (control group).

Material And Methods: The main group included 13 subjects (median age 31 years [Q=21 years, Q=42 years], 9 females), and the control and comparison groups included 26 people each, comparable by sex and age to the main group. All patients underwent neurological and psychiatric examination, electroencephalography or video-electroencephalographic monitoring, and MRI.

Unlabelled: Crohn's disease (CD) is a multifactorial inflammatory bowel disease whose pathogenetic mechanisms are a field of ongoing study. Changes in the intestinal microbiome in CD may influence metabolite production and reflect the disease's severity. We investigate the relationship between trimethylamine N-oxide (TMAO) and lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LPS) levels and changes in the gut microbiome in patients with CD of various degrees of activity.

Background: The diagnosis of ulcerative colitis (UC) today is limited to a small number of biomarkers. Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) is the product of reactions resulting from the degradation of dietary-free choline, phosphatidylcholine, and carnitine metabolism by the intestinal microbiota. Earlier studies showed his involvement in the pathogenesis of UC.

We present the spontaneous isomerization of donor-acceptor Stenhouse adducts anchored onto a gold surface, visualized using scanning tunneling spectroscopy. Our investigation reveals a palette of molecular arrangements, including those with ferroelectric-like ordering, evolving over time into a fine pattern consisting of both open and closed forms of the photoswitch.
