The diet of indicator fish species plays a crucial role in assessing ecosystem health. This study evaluated streams with and without urban influences, focusing on abiotic parameters and the trophic ecology of Psalidodon fasciatus and Piabina argentea. Forested streams exhibited higher redox potential, dissolved oxygen, transparency, and depth, whereas urban streams had higher temperatures, greater widths, and increased levels of total dissolved solids, conductivity, total coliforms, and thermotolerant coliforms.

Aim:  Diabetes mellitus is a prevalent disease in the Portuguese population and is associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Its proper therapeutic management is multifactorial, with lifestyle habits having a major impact. Unlabelled: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is a human herpes virus with a worldwide seroprevalence of 60-100%, mainly known to cause severe life-threatening disease in immunocompromised patients. In immunocompetent hosts (IMCh), CMV causes a self-limiting mononucleosis-like infection, and severe pictures are less recognized. We report a case of a previously healthy 62-year-old woman evaluated in the Internal Medicine outpatient clinic for 3 weeks of progressive fatigue, generalised inflammatory arthralgias, hypogastric discomfort and daily persistent fever.

Purpose: Advanced prostate cancer (PCa) is invariably fatal with the androgen receptor (AR) being a major therapeutic target. AR signaling inhibitors have improved overall survival for men with advanced PCa, but treatment resistance is inevitable and includes reactivation of AR signaling. Novel therapeutic approaches targeting these mechanisms to block tumor growth is an urgent unmet clinical need.
