The paper proposes to use combinations of two algorithms for the on-line prediction of the termination times of layer depositions in the case of complex optical coatings with large numbers of layers with significantly different layer thicknesses. Notch filters with very thin and thick coating layers are considered as examples of coatings where such combinations of algorithms can be useful. Computational manufacturing experiments are used to estimate expected levels of thickness errors and the strength of the error self-compensation effect for various notch filter designs.

The approach is based on the previously introduced estimate of the strength of the expected error self-compensation effect and the new estimate, to the best of our knowledge, of the strength of the cumulative effect of thickness error growth presented in this paper. The application of the proposed approach is demonstrated using computational manufacturing experiments with various types of optical coating designs.

Despite extensive research in the field of thrombotic diseases, the prevention of blood clots remains an important area of study. Therefore, the development of new anticoagulant drugs with better therapeutic profiles and fewer side effects to combat thrombus formation is still needed. Herein, we report the synthesis and evaluation of novel pyrroloquinolinedione-based rhodanine derivatives, which were chosen from 24 developed derivatives by docking as potential molecules to inhibit the clotting factors Xa and XIa.

Introduction: The optimal indicators and adequate criteria for the quantitative assessment of hearing loss excess risk with noise exposure above 80 dBA is urgently needed determination.
Methods: The technology for calculating hearing thresholds according to the model of the third edition of the ISO 1999.3:2013 standard, depending on gender, age, length of service and noise exposure, based on MSExcell tables, for population percentiles 1÷99% in 1% steps has been developed.
Introduction: Measurement of an- hippocampal area or volume is useful in clinical practice as a supportive aid for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. Since it is time-consuming and not simple, it is not being used very often. We present a simplified protocol for hippocampal atrophy evaluation based on a single optimal slice in Alzheimer's disease.
