Reclassifying cT4b buccal mucosa/gingivobuccal complex cancers: do we need to change?

T4b carcinomas are termed as very locally advanced carcinomas of the oral cavity and are deemed borderline resectable or unresectable. The role of surgery for these patients is not well defined. We therefore aimed to relook at the role of surgery for cT4b carcinoma of the oral cavity.

Treatment pattern and outcomes of leptomeningeal carcinomatosis in India - a retrospective study.

Background: Leptomeningeal carcinomatosis (LMC), the metastatic spread of cancer to the leptomeninges, is a rare complication and has a dismal prognosis. Due to limited data available on LMC from India, we conducted a country-wise audit of LMC across 15 centres in India.

Methods: The current study conducted in 2020, was a retrospective, multicentric audit of adult patients (aged ≥18 years) with diagnosis of LMC and who received treatment during 2010-2020.

Hospital-acquired diarrhoea (HAD) is common, and often associated with gut microbiota and metabolome dysbiosis following antibiotic administration. Clostridioides difficile is the most significant antibiotic-associated diarrhoeal (AAD) pathogen, but less is known about the microbiota and metabolome associated with AAD and C. difficile infection (CDI) with contrasting antibiotic treatment.
