Fabry disease, a lysosomal storage disorder, is a rare inborn error of metabolism caused by deficiency of the enzyme alpha galactosidase A and resulting accumulation of globotriaosylceramide. The symptoms of Fabry disease are heterogeneous including renal failure, cardiac hypertrophy, and stroke and may not be well recognized by non-specialist physicians. Patients with milder, later onset of disease often have a delay in diagnosis.

The observation of stromal gastric tumor of 12 years old girl has been investigated. The diagnostics was carried out on tumor biopsy taken by a laparoscopy. An evident edema of stroma caused "pseudo-papillary" organization of epithelioid cell neoplasm prevented the right diagnosis established only by immunohistochemical staining of CD117 and CD34 markers.

Classic modifiable cardiovascular risk factors, such as blood pressure and dyslipidaemia are incorporated into clinical practice to estimate the 10-year risk of fatal cardiovascular disease (CVD): the SCORE project. To improve CVD risk estimation in women we compared predictive value of two models: risk chart based on the SCORE study and the Reynolds Risk Score in 134 women with hypertension to optimise risk stratification and preventive strategies in high-risk individuals. We concluded that Reynolds Risk model causes clinically relevant changes in risk category classification compared to risk chart SCORE and improves risk stratification.
