The article presents characteristics of the dynamic component of postural balance and its features in elderly women with postural deficit. The assessment of the dynamic component of postural balance was performed on a computer stabilometric complex «Balance Manager» in women aged 60-74 with and without a history of falls. The most significant changes are manifested by an increase in the time of implementation and a decrease in the effectiveness of performing complex motor acts.

The article presents the results of the study of the quality of life (QOL) characteristics in the urban women 55-64 years old using the SF-36v2 questionnaire, the estimation of the standardized quantities of QOL is given. A total of 509 women were examined and divided into two age groups: the 1st group is 55-59 years old (n=210), the 2nd group is 60-64 years old (n=299). It is established that the women older than 59 years have a decline in the indicators of the physical functioning (p<0,001), the role functioning conditioned by a physical state (p=0,001), as well as the intensity of pain (p=0,011), which will negatively affect their activity in everyday life, their productive activities, making it difficult to continue working on pension.

A review of main results in the field that are relevant for understanding of the clinical pathology developed in old age is presented. The authors focus attention on the characteristics of atrophic processes and their severity in different brain structures including cognitive impairment (memory etc). Correlations between structural changes in brain tissues and neurochemical and bioelectrical processes in the CNS are discussed.

DC-potential of the brain was performed in 97 women 55-74 years old living in the circumpolar region. Study and analysis of the distribution level DC-potential brain mapping was carried out by the measured values of monopolar constant potentials. The resulting distribution characteristics DC-potential compared with the average values for the corresponding normative age period.
