Brucellosis is highly contagious zoonotic bacterial disease caused by gram-negative genus. It has a wide spectrum of clinical manifestations and due to variety and nonspecificity of clinical signs the diagnostics can be very complicated. We present a clinical case of severe chronic brucellosis in a 5-years old boy with long-term course of disease and multiorgan involvement.

While computed tomography angiography (CTA) is the widely-accepted standard, two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional(3D) transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is commonly performed to measure the size of the aortic valve and to verify appropriate seating of prostheses. Patients undergoing TAVR between 2013-2015 were examined.

The results indicate that intracoronary injection of allogenic multipotent stromal precursors is a safe procedure. No complications and side effects directly or indirectly related to cell transplantation were recorded during the immediate and delayed postoperative periods.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFWe carried out a pilot study on intracoronary transplantation of prenatal allogenic skeletal myoblasts and multipotent bone marrow stromal cells to patients with dilated cardiomyopathy. Intracoronary transplantation of allogenic cells is a feasible and safe procedure: there were no life-threatening rhythm and conduction disturbances, symptoms of hemodynamic instability, and thromboembolic complications. Positive clinical effect of cell transplantation persisted for 6 months and consisted in decreased content of brain natriuretic peptide and improved tolerance to physical exercises.
