Extralevatory surgery requires a use of additional techniques for closure of extensive defects of the pelvic floor. This study analyzed the results of 55 extralevatory abdomino-perineal extirpations of the rectum using a variety of methods of plastic of defects of the pelvic floor. There were performed 20 simple plastics, 13 alloplastics and 22 myoplastics.

An anesthetic mode used during operations under extracorporeal circulation was comparatively analyzed in children operated on for congenital heart diseases. The preference of inhalational anesthesia using the anesthetic sevorane was revealed. The use of the anesthetic reduced the need for opioid analgesics and activated patients in the early postoperative period.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe examination of 40 patients operated upon for rheumatic and congenital heart diseases has shown general proteolytic activity to be increased in patients with a rheumatic heart disease. The antitrypsin and antichymotrypsin activity were increased both in rheumatic and in congenital heart diseases. The changes were more pronounced in the development of pyo-septic and thromboembolic complications and they were found to appear earlier than clinical manifestations of the complications and can be used for prognosis of complications.
