Tyrosyl-DNA-phosphodiesterase 1 (TDP1) is an important enzyme in the DNA repair system. The ability of the enzyme to repair DNA damage induced by a topoisomerase 1 poison such as the anticancer drug topotecan makes TDP1 a promising target for complex antitumor therapy. In this work, a set of new 5-hydroxycoumarin derivatives containing monoterpene moieties was synthesized.

Thick dielectric SiO shells on the surface of iron particles enhance the thermal and electrodynamic parameters of the iron. A technique to deposit thick, 500-nm, SiO shell to the surface of carbonyl iron (CI) particles was developed. The method consists of repeated deposition of SiO particles with air drying between iterations.

Postischemic neuroinflammation is a critical pathophysiological process within the entire scheme of cerebral ischemia, covering early damage and the period of tissue repair. It is characterized by microglial and astroglial activation with increased expression of inflammatory mediators and is accompanied by impaired innate and adaptive immune responses. In acute ischemic stroke (IS), neuroinflammation is caused by the response of resident immune cells of microglia and peripheral immunocompetent cells infiltrating the brain tissue, which penetrate the blood-brain barrier (BBB) into the lesion.

Hollow ferromagnetic powders of iron were obtained by means of ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. A variation in the conditions of the synthesis allows for the adjustment of the mean size of the hollow iron particles. Iron powders were obtained by this technique, starting from the aqueous solution of iron nitrate of two different concentrations: 10 and 20 wt.
