To determine the antimicrobial properties of melanin, conditionally pathogenic bacteria, belonging to different taxonomic groups were used. The results have shown that melanin solution exhibited bacteriostatic or bactericide activity depending on test culture and melanin concentration.

Using this pretraining strategy, we train BARTSmiles, a BART-like model with an order of magnitude more compute than previous self-supervised molecular representations. In-depth evaluations show that BARTSmiles consistently outperforms other self-supervised representations across classification, regression, and generation tasks, setting a new state-of-the-art on eight tasks.

Transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) and Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) analysis confirmed that biosynthesized Ag-NPs are in the nano-size range (50-100 nm) and have irregular morphology. Biogenic NPs demonstrate antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli BW 25,113, Enterococcus hirae ATCC 9790, and Staphylococcus aureus MDC 5233.
