Background: No recent data are available on hepatitis delta virus (HDV) prevalence in Algeria. For this reason we conducted an epidemiological study, cross-sectional seroprevalence of HDV in the region of Setif.

Aim: Polymorphisms in the methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) and cystathionine β-synthase (CBS) genes, involved in the intracellular metabolism of homcysteine, can result in hyperhomocysteinemia. The objective of this study was to evaluate prevalence estimates of MTHFR C677T and the CBS insertion of 68-bp (844ins68) polymorphisms among individuals with cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Objective: Diabetes mellitus stands as a major public health issue in Algeria and has an important socioeconomical impact. Our study involved a representative sample of 1457 subjects and aimed at assessing the prevalence of type 2 diabetes and glucose intolerance in the population of Setif Wilaya, aged between 30 and 64 years old.
