The study of competition from a social comparison perspective offers valuable insights into the neuroscience of social judgment and decision making under uncertainty. When engaging in social comparison, individuals seek and assess information about similarities or differences between others and themselves, in large part to improve their self-evaluation. By providing information about one's relative position, abilities, outcomes, and more, social comparisons can inform competitive judgments and decisions.

Validation of a three-dimensional printed pediatric middle ear model for endoscopic surgery training.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the anatomical appropriateness of a three-dimensional (3D) printed pediatric middle ear model with a replaceable middle ear unit as an endoscopic ear surgery (EES) simulator.

Methods: Single-blinded, prospective, proof-of-concept study conducted in a simulation operative suite. A simulator was developed through segmentation of source images and multi-material 3D printing.

A facile method to selectively determine trace As(V) species in the existence of As(III) one in water samples was developed, which was based on the batch adsorption process by using a miniaturized MIL-101(Fe) mixed-matrix membrane (MOF-MMM) followed by a direct determination through energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometry. The quantitative adsorption of As(V) was achieved at pH (3-6) from 30 mL sample in 120 min of equilibrium time by employing the membrane with a monolayer adsorption capacity of Q = 1.953 mg g.

A combined fracture and mortality risk index useful for treatment stratification in hip fragility fractures.

Objectives: In this study, we aimed to assess the stratification ability of the Fracture and Mortality Risk Evaluation (FAME) index for reoperation, new fragility fracture, and mortality during one-year follow-up.

Patients And Methods: Between November 2018 and July 2019, a total of 94 consecutive hip fragility fracture patients from two centers (20 males, 74 females; mean age: 79.3±8.
