This study aimed to investigate the experiences of people with intellectual disability (ID) using information and communication technologies (ICTs) and the ways these technologies foster social connectedness. In partnership with a community mental health organization, this qualitative descriptive study explored the experiences of 10 people with ID using ICTs. Participants described how ICTs in their life - ICTs provided an avenue for connecting with other people, a means to pursue personal interests and a tool for organizing everyday life.

Unlabelled: Hypovitaminosis D is a problem among hip fracture patients. In a 1-year cohort study comprising 245 hip fracture patients (mean age of females 81 years and males 78 years) from south-eastern Finland, the mean 25-hydroxyvitamin D [S-25(OH)D] concentration was 73(SD 31) nmol/L. Vitamin D supplementation has been integrated into our current practice.

Objective: Several studies have shown that knee OA is associated with obesity, physical stress at work, traumatic knee injuries, heredity and female gender. However, the body of such evidence comes from cross-sectional or case-control studies, and from only a few follow-up studies, mostly of short duration. Based on the nationwide Mini-Finland Health Survey, we analysed the potential risk factors for prediction of incident knee OA in the long term.

Medication information should be available in a correct content and format and where and when needed in medical care. In this paper process and information models are presented in order to identify the items, their relations, contents, sources and use contexts of medication information. The motivation for this study has been to develop a harmonized information model for medication information to overcome current problems and pitfalls in medication information management and information accessibility.
