Deferasirox (Def), an orally administered iron-chelating drug, has drawn significant interest in repurposing for anticancer application due to the elevated Fe demand by cancer cells. But there are also concerns about its severe off target health effects. Herein Cu(II) binding is studied as a potential off target interaction.

Further, body image concerns are implicated globally as a hindrance to sports engagement among adolescents but are rarely acknowledged in India. Due to a lack of research, the unique restrictions to sport participation faced by girls in India are yet to be understood.

This occurs in a variety of animals, including lizards (tail), crabs (legs), and starfish (arms). There has been extensive investigation of the evolution, ecology, and biomechanical impact of autotomy, but little is known about neural mechanisms controlling autotomy in animals.

The experience encompasses an exploration of the transport protein serum transferrin as an important regulator of Fe(III) biochemistry and incorporates techniques to assess protein-metal stoichiometry and protein stability and to perform molecular visualization. Students gain practical experience in utilizing spectrophotometric analysis for constructing stoichiometric curves, in performing urea-PAGE, and in applying the PyMOL program to evaluate metal coordination at a protein binding site and the associated protein structural change.
